Before everyone starts flamin', seems like wait time is less :) plus save money for performance :) ........... AMUSE VESTITO = 5500+ bucks + Paint??? = Alot
(Granted I know fitment is probably flawless when purchased directly from Powerhouse)

However, whether you call this a fake, replica, or poser.....last time I checked it won't say Amuse Vestito when its painted :P

Plagerism in any form should not be encouraged. If your the type of person that would rather own a Ferrari with the underpinnings of a Fiero, then by all means get the kit. As someone in the design field, it's the equivelent to someone stealing. The Amuse kit is expensive, but that's no excuse. As with anything, you get what you pay for.

True in reference to the Ferrari n Fiero but in comparison we are talking high performance vs fire trap.....Amuse Vestito kit is freakin awesome but why does plastic gotta be so expensive....over inflation of price for exterior add on to be different/unique.....no moving parts, just high quality plastic.....full carbon fiber isn't even that expensive....

A clone is just that a clone. If you show up at a local meet? Don't be surprised that while you're parking the Z? People standing around will be commenting " Thats a fake kit", and if your comfy with a fake kit more power to you.

Last I checked, the purpose of a body kit for the average sports car owner is for looks, not for a brand name or any kind of prestige... go for it. I seriously doubt anybody would be able to tell. The JDM hype is way too overplayed. If you were to live in Japan, having an over-priced body kit (shipping, import taxes, markup, etc) wouldn't be all that "JDM mad tyte."

Unfortunately, it looks like you'll need to get a real Amuse wing if you want to have the full kit.

Buy what you feel you want.

What I would like to know is how long will it take Amuse to recoupe it's investment on design and manufacture so it can reduce the cost of the body kit.

Exactly, thats the reason of cost. All the r&d to make this happen, and for someone to just take a copy of someone's work is wrong.

Not that I endorse it but...

Jamaica, didn't you make yours out of carbon fiber? Technically, doesn't that make it a replica? Albiet a probably high quality one... I kid, I kid. Please don't flame me lol

nismo 1234 10-18-2010 10:52 PM

hmm, im actually wanting a amuse kit... but a price tag like that makes me wonder why i spend that money while i can put tat money on performance upgrades. As long as the fitment isnt crap, i think replica kits are fine.
In vancouver, plenty of cars are rolling around with replica kits.

Jjaden 10-18-2010 10:53 PM

I'm reading a lot of snobby elitism in this thread.

If the replacement kit is equal quality and 1/3 the price, I'd hop on it in a hearbeat.

Why pay extra for something solely due to the name?

If the quality of this new kit is garbage, then don't be shocked, but if it's of reasonable quality then I say you just got yourself a good deal.

Not everyone can afford a 5000k+ kit, and if there is an affordable alternative, you should not be the target of scorn for pursuing that route.

JB-370z 10-18-2010 10:58 PM

It will make my real amuse kit happier.
