disable battery saver

Hi guys, did a search on this but couldn't find anything..

Was curious if anyone knew a way to disable the battery saver feature on the car.. you know like if you leave your headlights on accidentally, the battery saver kicks in and turns them off in 15 mins or so.. (not the auto setting on the stalk).

Really thinking this would be useful at a car show, to display my LED landing strip headlight mod.. They are currently wired to the parking lights so would like to have a way to leave them on for like at least an hour..

Any ideas?

I believe the dealer can turn that off with consult III.

I believe it's only 5 minutes until they'll turn off.

Sure fire solution:

Use a relay with a toggle switch to power the coil so it will switch the power input for the parking lights to a constant 12v+ power source.

Bosche relay:
Terminal 85 (Coil) - Toggle switch hooked to a Ground
Terminal 86 (Coil) - 12v constant fused at 5-10A

Terminal 30 - Parking light output

Terminal 87A (Normally Closed) - Parking light input
Terminal 87 (Normally Open) - 12v constant fused at 5-10A

Yes you can actually buy those also.

Yeah, but they're pretty expensive...

duh.. for the record I found if you just switch the car to ON, it never shuts the lights off.. I think I'll stick with this for now.

make sure your battery is getting charged while displaying at the show. draining kills these non-deep cycle batteries rather quickly.

I love running my fuel pump unnecessarily... :shakes head:
