For those that have the tonneau cover...

I am thinking about getting the tonneau cover assembly:

TONNEAU COVER ASSY - 370Z (Z34) 2009+ :: Nissan Parts, NISMO and Nissan Accessories - Courtesyparts.com

And I was wanting to get your thoughts on the thing. Does it rattle? Does it fit snuggly? Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

I'm getting mine in the morning. I'm pretty sure someone will answer your question before I get back. If not, I'll answer your question. Just give me a few hours :)

Thanks bro!

If I'm not mistaken, you will need more than just that part itself. You will also need the panel on the left and right behind our gigantic bar. On top of that you will need the two plastic fittings that attaches on the inside panel of the cargo door.

This is available for touring model and already discussed in one of the threads.

Edit:

I did a quick 30 second search. Here's the thread
http://www.the370z.com/exterior-inte...rgo-cover.html

So if your car came with the hooks on the cargo panel then you're good to go. If not.. Expect to pay a few hundred dollars to replace the inside panels and also to install the hooks on the cargo door.

ncheung85 10-10-2010 01:41 AM

yea i heard about that. but i think the base 2010 comes with all the part beside the cover like mine. that cover fits like a glove. no rattling so far.

doubleG370Z 10-10-2010 01:15 PM

so far can't tell if cover makes noise b/c of the other noises...reduced tire & wheel well noise, next is styrofoam inserts around spare tire.

it's really nice to have cover, extra security in being able to cover/hide stuff in trunk area.

Hardcortes 10-10-2010 01:40 PM

Yeah I met up with some fellow 370z owners and met two guys that have the cover and I only need the screen, the interior molding is ready to go AND I LOVE THE WAY IT LOOKS, NOT ALONE THE EXTRA SECURITY FOR THE 13IN SUB THAT I WANT TO HIDE. ;)

We are letting them go for around $220ish let me know if you need anything else because we try to not only price match but be the best deal for Z owners! :hello:

Tonneau Cover is great. With the lack of storage in the Z it at least gives you some place to stash something you dont want sitting in a seat where some jerk could smash and grab it

TreeSemdyZee 12-18-2010 08:00 AM

2010 Base??

Does anyone know if the holes exist in the '10 Base model? I've got an '09 and am looking at buying some '10 panels from a guy doing a race build. His answers are vague, so I need some info from someone that actually has the car.
Thanks.

i believe all 2010 models have the 2 holes in the rear panels for the cover. dont quote me on that, but my nismo has them and all i had to do was purchase the cover from my dealer

Thanks chops. I made a mad dash to my dealer this morning and found that the Base does have the holes also. They didn't come that way on the '09s and I found a deal on the panels. I had planned on cutting my panels and adding the other hardware needed, but I didn't want to pass up a good deal.

Thanks again.

ProfessorDave 12-19-2010 07:16 AM

TreeSemdy, you'll like the cover. I used mine for the first time this weekend while Christmas shopping to hide the stuff in the trunk. My conclusion was: Why the hell didn't I think to use this thing before?

Yeah. I'm kinda anxious to get everything installed. I've had a couple of cars in the past that had a cover like this and I loved them. Keeps prying eyes out of the trunk. I don't have a real dark tint, so they can still see things like store bag and boxes with labels pretty easily.

Cargo Cover

3 Attachment(s)
The cover does make noise. The fabric flaps around the air and makes a subtle thumbing noise. Its not very loud. I have a nismo 09' I had to replace both rear panels to install the cover. It was a major deal. The dealer has never done it and it took 3 people almost 4 hours to install.

Holliday 01-08-2011 12:22 PM
