Pictures of 20mm and 25mm spacers

I plan to add spacers to the rear wheels without lowering the car but not sure to do 20mm or 25mm.

Anyone has pictures of 370Z with sport wheels, 20mm or 25mm spacers for the rear wheels, and without lowering the car so I can compare?

Thanks in advance

Here's some pictures of the sport wheels, 20mm spacer on the rear with new Hankook 305/30.

Here's a pic of my new wheels - 10.5", same 20mm spacer, very similar offset as stock.

Why can't you lower your car?

I scrape on my driveway and other various spots as it is, so if I lowered it I'd be in some serious trouble. It sucks too, cause I'd really like to do about an inch drop.

what do you scrape? the chin spoiler from the sports package?

Azroadster 10-06-2010 04:54 PM

Flash,

That sucks, and I understand because I will have similar issues but have decided to just live with it and figure out ways to mitigate scrapes as much as possible. The normal places that I drive like my driveway and such are fine, it's the occasional stupidly designed entrance to a parking lot that will be an issue. I am going to get the Eibach Pro Kit which is supposed to lower the car less than an inch. I will just live with the wheel gap after that if it doesn't look right.

springs are a catch 22. you want something that looks lowered, but you dont want it to lower too much, and lots of people end up lowering and you can't even tell. you want something that is firmer than stock, but with a similar spring rate to stock. frustrating.

Yeah, the chin spoiler. I like to treat that as a warning. I could maybe drop 1/2 an inch and remove the spoiler and at least not scrape my driveway, but there are other places I scrape sometimes, and I'm not so sure about those areas. At least scraping the spoiler doesn't really matter, but if it was my bumper I would .

anyone running 20mm up front and 25 mm in back?

Boost_lee 01-11-2011 01:06 AM

car right above your post has 20mmF/25mmR

Kenny 01-11-2011 01:47 AM

LOL, thanks. I just realized that right now after going through this thread: http://www.the370z.com/wheels-tires/...pacers-12.html

I want to run spacers without having to remove the stock studs. 20mm bolt-on spacer up front and 25mm bolt-on spacer on the rear with the stock 19'' sport package Rays wheels. From my research, there's enough of a recess on the back of the wheels to clear the stock studs w/ the bolt-on spacers.

I'm now a bit worried about this vibration issue some people are experiencing with the front spacers. Has anyone had any hub issues? Doesn't spacers add stress to the stock hubs?

Hey Kenny, I've been running the Ichiba v2 spacers 20mm frt rr for a good while, and have had no issues. :)

kenchan 01-11-2011 01:36 PM

kenny- for the front 20mm, find my posts where you need to grind the wheel disc area by about 1.5mm. they dont clear the stock studs without this slight mod.

I couldn't find that post you were talking about. Could you elaborate?

sajonf 01-13-2011 09:19 PM

I just installed 20mm front and rear Ichiba bolt on spacers and am having vibration issues with the front too. I know it's the front because I ran the rears only first with no issues.

I used my Dremel to dig some grooves where the stock lugs protrude but I guess I didn't do good enough because the vibration is still there.

I would be interested in reading your post as well kenchan.

Thanks

sajonf 01-13-2011 09:28 PM

Nevermind I found it

http://www.the370z.com/brakes-suspen...-pls-help.html

I did exactly as you described in that thread but I guess I didn't grind down enough. I am going to try again this weekend.

chuckd05 01-14-2011 12:25 AM

Just get the stud replacement H and Rs . It is not hard and after you do it , you will know how to change your brakes if you don't already...

Its an hour of your time to make your Z drive like it should.. Bolt ons are sketchy and 90 percent of the time vibrate and cause the wheel to shake a little bit once going 70+ mph...

A shop should charge an hour labor tops to install them if you need to go that route, but the DIY on here are perfect... On my base with no akebonos once the caliper and rotor were off there was no modding needed to install them...

But this is coming from someone who sold my front spacers and have taken two weeks + to get the front studs off. More because of this horrible NY weather but it is a pain, but not that hard and certainly not impossible for anyone with no experience working on cars to do.

Thanks Christian370 for being patient!!!

Ever since switching to the builtin stud spacers 5yrs ago, haven't looked back. The convenience of swapping out different sizes and no vibrations is great. I use eibachs in the front, kics on the rear. I've used ichibas too with no vibration issues.

i call them the built-in stud spacers cause it's got studs kinda built in? :icon17: wat a concept, huh?

i haven't used the stud replacement type for a very long time. main reason is it's a hassle to swap out the studs when you change wheels or while you are trial/erroring a setup... ive had issues where the lugs are too shallow, or you get the deep lugs and then it looks like shiet on your other wheel set... or try open lugs and they kinda rust, etc.

it's really up to the user which they prefer but the built-in stud spacers are not inferior imho. i dont see how anyone can deterimine the new studs are as strong or stronger until they break (on the stud replacement type). same risks involved.

chuckd05 01-15-2011 01:21 AM

I had ichibas v2 ( bolt on ) on the front and it caused my wheel to shimmer a bit. Nothing crazy but it was there. I played with hub centric and never went away. Maybe ichibas aren't as good as eibach.

I still have v2 25mm on the rear though. Went with stud replacements for my new wheels tho. HR 10mm
