I think it is ONLY if it's bright enough. I am not 100% sure. I'd search DOT rules on google for more info.

Hmm after looking at pictures. Thats not really the actual turn signal its the parking light if I am wrong please correct me. So since there is the actual turn signal above the projector and the side marker it may be ok. It would be just a white parking light. Wonder how that would change the output of the actual headlight. But from what I have seen the parking light is not soooo yellow

We have a sh!t ton of a cars out here with with turn signals. Mine were on my Trans Am for a while... Never had any trouble with the law for them (even when getting cited at street races).

Honestly, I wouldn't change the color of the light, but I'd make it LED... So an amber LED would be my choice. I think the LED on/off speed would keep the extremely classly look and maintain a stock/OEM feel while not over-doing the white LED theme. Too much of one thing can be bad...

Amber is the only turn signal color legal in my state. People get rolled for hyperwhites all the time.

I'm waiting for parts to come in for my homemade LED turn signals. In my 350Z, I made quad Luxeon LED 7440 amber bulbs. I've had it for over 3 years and even sold the car with them. :-) The new ones will be better. Tee hee!

Here are my 194 parking bulbs... waiting for the 370Z to arrive any day now:

I agree.

For me personally, there are times that I have to look harder to see if the car is signaling or not. Depending of the location, it can be hard to see those turn white led signals, especially when it's very close to the headlamp due to glare. It can look like it's a part of the headlamp. With the Z's headlamp design, this can be an issue of safety and may increase the chances of collision.

I think it's by law, in California at least, that the turn signals can only be red or orange, for safety reasons.

Anyways, if you any of you are planning to do this... please consider safety and other drivers too. :tiphat:

I think this will come in handy for our cars.

Super Bright LEDs

DIGItonium, where did you get your parts for your 350?

EDIT: Here's the auto section if you don't feel like digging around

I got fed up with those cheap imported LED automotive bulbs, so I bought blank bulb bases and started making my own bulbs using Luxeon LEDs in 2003-2004. There is at least another member who made his own and started selling bulbs, but I never really pursued that interest.

Anyhow, I ordered Luxeon parts from Future Electronics and DigiKey.

Can't be red here. No forward facing red or blue lights... BIG ticket! :D Almost got busted for that at a street race when I'd changed my fog lamps on the Trans Am to blue glow lights in front of the standard fogs so they can be either color.

planning on doing this sometime soon. however i will just be replacing the turn signal bulb to a Sylvania mirror-ish bulbs (similar to these but more of a blue hue to them... https://www.ragingspeed.co.uk/catalo.../inv_bulbs.jpg ) and the parking light to something more white-ish. only LED work that i will be considering is the rear plate lights

i also tried to install hyper white led in the location of the orange side reflector. everything fit and worked out pretty well. i will try to upload all the photos soon.
