Unless you hit something I have yet to see a JDM part have many issues once fitted, and paint is done on the user end so it is up to your painter.

Love the vert kit!

Wow, the bumper looks horrendous but the lip kit looks nice.

Thanks for the help Dreamer!

Regarding the cost, the biggest factor that makes the price so much higher than it should be is the current ¥ to $ conversion. The value of our US Dollar is ridiculously low. If we were back in 2008, the lip would probably be more like $600-700. Since the core of the issue is the poor value of our currency, it affects everything we import from other countries; especially Japan since their ¥ is so strong right now.

They're feeling great about buying from the US though, that's for sure.

I did forget about that, I believe it was the beginning of this month a lot of Japanese companies redid their prices and for the US market is jumped up another 5-10%. :(

kenchan 09-16-2010 03:23 PM

im telling you, ANA ran out of money to buy the 10 or watever dreamliners (which Boeing delayed) so they are messing with the currency exchange rate to make the planes more affordable. :D ;)

phelan 09-16-2010 04:43 PM

didn't you see the Japanese gov't actually stepped in and adjusted the yen to trying to improve international commerce recently? The Yen is really strong against the dollar right now, they're trying to dial it back. But now is not the best of times to get JDM stuff...

and ^ lol @ ANA. They should've just gone w/ the A380s, those things are monsters~ hahahaha

Sometimes there is a reason why a body kit is "one of a kind" :icon14:

1slow370 09-18-2010 05:24 AM

ok so our exchange rate is bad enough that a stillen bumper would cost 47,000 yen but a the branew bumper would cost 178,000yen? (shipping not figured in either way and the stillen kit price is figure from the us amount times the current exchange rate and the branew amount is straight from the Japanese site) They're just nuts over there, that or their poly has gold flakes in it.

On a side note phelan it seems like you've been rockin the misaki avatar for over a month now tired of mixin it up lol?

The exchange rate is not the reason for ALL parts being expensive; it is just the greatest overall contributing factor and affects everything imported to the US. Some parts are just expensive regardless, like the Branew Carbon Aero which I was clear to state so there are no surprises.
