yah, tracing paper is too thin to work with, but if you use a regular old 8x11 letter sized paper it works pretty well. :p that's how i did all the DiNoc templates.

ive had issues with my painter's tape leaving residue (i must just have a bad batch) so ive kinda stayed away from using it too much. :D

Were you using the orange label tape? That is the delicate surface stuff that is less likely to leave residue behind.

no, just regular 3M painter's blue tape... for some reason the one roll i have leaves behind residue. :(

Just for those who might not know, there are (at least as far as I know), two kinds of painter tape (both blue). Look at the label and you will see two differnt levels of stickiness. ;)

This looks like it might be a good way to make door handle templates for DiNoc :)
