interesting

Jesse_Hunter 08-31-2010 02:35 PM

I've got them, and love them! Really makes the rear look a lot better.

I'm not sure that I have these exact ones, mine are chrome colored, but the light is also halogen. I get alot of compliments on the blueish color of them.

Joka4411 08-31-2010 02:59 PM

I thought this was such a cheap mod for a big result.

Jesse_Hunter 08-31-2010 03:07 PM

No doubt.

Funny you mentioned it, I didn't even realize that was illegal until my cop friend told me.

Even then, I just assumed they weren't that strict about it. No problems thus far..... (crosses fingers)

Joka4411 08-31-2010 03:26 PM

They are Clear when there not lit, and then they turn amber when lit. They are gonna takeout that egg color look.

I got pulled over for this very thing in a previous car. The cop wrote me a $7 ticket. I was not a happy camper.

However I really like the look of them so I would probably take the chance again. I had them in for 2 years before I got pulled over.

Yeah I agree, I love them, and I'm going to take my chances.

7$, LOL, If that isn't the biggest scam to get money out of us for the state, I don't know what is........

CBRich 09-01-2010 09:17 AM

Luckily the Z store ones do light up amber but appear clear. I'd love to get some but can't justify it until mine go out.

kenchan 09-01-2010 01:32 PM

yikes $27 for a pair of bulbs? :icon14:

you aware that you can spray paint the amber bulbs silver and they will appear clear while unlit and amber when lit? $3 tops for testor's spray enamel paint at hobby store. :icon17:

Considering how often most people use their signals, they should have let you go for having them on!

Joka4411 09-01-2010 09:13 PM

I Recieved Bulbs Yesterday and decided to install them right away. Well let me tell you that it was really not that simple, Had to remove all the panels, unbolt the tailights and install the bulbs, Wow what a job. But it was well worth it. They Look Good !!!!! Very Clean Look.

Yeah I know, It's a bitch.

I noticed though, If it weren't for that one tiny nut on the middle backside of taillight, you wouldn't have to completely take all that out.

Joka4411 09-03-2010 11:26 AM

Why couldnt they come off just like the 350z, those tailights didnt have that extra bolt.

Maybe because they're totally different vehicles.

Jesse_Hunter 09-03-2010 12:18 PM

Last time, I thought about leaving that bolt off, but didn't. Seems like the top two would provide plenty of support for light.

Joka4411 09-03-2010 12:22 PM

Thought about that too, But didnt. Its got to be there to help support the tailight, or they wouldnt put it there, Well other then to make you take it to the dealer to have a bulb changed.

Jesse_Hunter 09-03-2010 12:25 PM

Yeah, I was afraid if I left it off I might have to open back up and put back on. I really hope to never take the tail lights out again, myself.

Holliday 09-03-2010 03:22 PM

For anyone else looking to change their bulbs here is a cheaper alternative:
2x 3157 Amber Color Chrome Light Bulbs Park Signal 3057: eBay Motors (item 120613727143 end time Sep-24-10 19:15:33 PDT)

I put them on my car and they work great. I am sure they are the same as Courtesy's but they have more overhead.

Good luck
