I was looking at the back of my 2011 Z and was surprised to see that the blank plate is neither black nor body color. It looks like it's a dark red.

It's too cold to crawl underneath but I am curious. Anyone know for sure what's going on there? Maybe it can be easily converted to a stoplight.

What part of the country are you in?

Rear fog light?.... SOLD OUT EVERYWHERE!??

Not too far from you - McCormick; right across the river from Lincolnton, GA. Purchased car in Augusta.

On closer look, it turns out that I really have a lens. There is a wiring harness, with a plug, next to it but it is not connected.

Sorry about that, I just noticed the "SC" under your avatar. It sounds like it is the basic USDM Blank that is installed by the factory. It does not sound like you have a JDM Fog light installed by the way you have described the harness, its color and the fact it is fresh from the dealership. The factory US market blanks are fairly dark, but they do have a reddish tint to them. Without seeing pics to be 100% certain, I would be almost positive that you have the standard factory piece.

But we can change that if you want to install the JDM one :tiphat:
