Problem with hatch

My hatch will not close, it's as though something is blocking the latch but there is nothing. The latch will not close no matter what, I had to drive home from work with a open hatch. Anyone know what the problem could be?

Might be one of the many glitches of Nissan. Take it to the dealer!

Long time no post!

The latch may be out of alignment. You could probably fiddle with it yourself or just take it to the dealer.

I would check the springs being in all the way and if not that then the rubber stoppers.

Did you try hitting the button again? Might be stuck open.

Hmmm.. I haven't seen this one on the forum. Taking to the dealer probably will be the best idea.

Long time no see btw, Alex! :hello:

yep, as posted above sounds like the striker needs alignment.

It should be under warrenty the dealer is the best bet.

So yeah, I took it to the idiots, sorry I mean dealership.
Cause: Latch assembly binding in lock position and shortened out actuator
Correction: Replaced latch assembly and back door lock actuator

He had bad experience with them previously hence the name. Those of you that are blessed with good dealers, consider yourself very lucky! I am so nervous to take my car to the dealer, because they are really bad. I need to get an alignment done since I had 4000 miles but I'm too nervous to take it to them. I know for sure they will F*ck something up. I know you can't mess up an alignment job, but they probably will :shakes head:. I am currently at 23,000 miles and still haven't had this done :(. I don't trust them with putting my tires on the rims, I will say this much.

That sucks, AK! The dealership I bought my car from is fairly competent.
