Scott: I heard that cops pull over red starter button cars more than other colors. Maybe we need a way to hide the button while on the road? Maybe that pink button will get less tickets.

ARFCOM 09-04-2010 07:11 PM

Just ordered my button to go with my Red 370Z, order #8734.

It will be the first modification of any kind that I've done to my Z (other than tinting the three rear windows) since buying it back in July.

BTW: What's up with the e-mail I received confirming my order that is full of nothing but HTML code?

m4a1mustang 09-04-2010 07:21 PM

Scott I need some special button made for my Mustang.

Lemers 09-04-2010 11:20 PM

Ford racing already had a cheap red push button start (for autos only) it replaced the lighter.

Baer383 09-05-2010 11:43 AM

Just ordered mine today order #8739

Let me know when you send it Scott,

Thanks Frank

You know if the Z came with the red buttons stock everyone would be putting the "Infiniti" illuminating button in their Z.

Hahaha. You've got a good point there, but everyone should first check if this mod is legal in their state, most of them banned the button because it was way too cool :p

Nice! The install is short and sweet so this will be a nice addition to your Z! And we will look into the html email!

Sorry to break it to you m4 but there is nothing that will make more power than the custom GTR button that you had ordered, though I'll call Dr. Octopus and start shooting some ideas around with him

i cant believe people are still buying these red buttons... for wat? just a red button?

ok, i want one too! :D

flashburn 09-07-2010 02:40 PM

Haha, yeah normally I'd just be like "umm, whatever", but I'm digging the red button. It just screams "DON'T PUSH UNLESS THERE IS AN EMERGENCY", which of course is irresistible.

WestCo Scott 09-07-2010 03:51 PM

Oh, btw make sure you also have blinker fluid in stock. I think mine is low. ;)

Fire 09-09-2010 11:03 AM

Scott, I'm dying here waiting for my supercharged twin turbo'd NOS injected red starter button, order #8724. CPR will need to be started soon, the factory button pulls all my energy out of my finger every time I push that white button. Going going .....

m4a1mustang 09-09-2010 11:04 AM

Scott is it normal for a GTR button to be hovering over you at the end of your bed at 3AM in the morning saying, "traitor" over and over?

kenchan 09-09-2010 11:29 AM

i donno wth but im :excited: to get this red candy on my car.

kind like the red hazard button on my Fit...

Ah! We will have to special order it from Japan if you want the factory spec, though we do have Motul blinker fluid in stock which adds performance while maintaining streetability if you are interested. :icon17:

Wait don't die! You wanted Vortech, twin T42s, and 6 NOS foggers on right? Well since I know you don't' like dying I hooked you up with your own AED in your trunk!

I recieved and installed my heart starting start switch. Took no time at all due to the DIY. I have the auto and didn't need to do anything with the hazard switch. I would like to find something to install at the blank switch location across from the hazard switch. Any suggestions? Maybe a nitro switch hmmm.:stirthepot:

Is there an install for the manual 370? I can only find the DIY for the auto. I assume it is the same with one more button disconnect?

The manual is really not much different. The only real difference is on the bezel around the shifter. Just grab at the back of the bezel/shift boot and pull up. If you want to completely take it off, you have to unscrew the shift knob. There is a plug that you'll have to detach.

You're right!

2009 370z Service Manual Complete ready to Download!

kenchan 09-15-2010 02:16 PM

as treesemdyzee mentioned, just grab the back of the boot area and pull up the shifter.

place a towel under there before you put down that shifter ring because it has metal brackets that will scuff up your center console. :) and no need to completely remove the shifter ring/boot assy from the car to do this or HU swap for that matter. GL!
