by That "diffuser" do you mean the fujimura?

it seems to me the rear of the 370z under carriage is pocketed

logic seems to dictate this "pocket" above the muffler would trap air actually creating drag

which further proves the point that an actual Diffuser would have to start closer to the center of the Z...no?

Sorry, let me elaborate. :tiphat:

-Our stock diffuser is functional, but nowhere near as funtional as a "full" diffuser.

-The difference between the Evo-R & stock diffuser however, is miniscule.

Air want's to flow in a straight line, and a diffuser along with the shape of the rear bumper, balances out or creates downforce by controling the airflow.

There's a reason why the diffusers you show are so big or why racing wings are so big. You need a lot of surface area to make any downforce effective and usefull along with speed. An F1's diffuser for example, technically has no function if your going 10mph. If you think about it, most of the aftermarket aero kits available for the Z don't really do any better than the stock aerodynamics for street use.

So the simple answer is yes, it is functional, but just as functional as folding the mirrors in or sticking your hand out the window. :icon17:

i can say that i have less dust on the butt after a drive with the fujimura...so it is slightly functional over not having one.

btw, if you guys are going to buy one, get it through japanparts. rhdjapan is so frikken slow it's unbelievable.
