I have 5600 on mine and I also have a bag of chips. Can't wait to see the results of another 10k :shakes head:

No Clear Bra

I had the dealer remove from my Z. I hated it; I thought it looked cheezy like putting plastic over fine furniture.

love it, especially since i got a custom full hood and fender installed. my front lip is startin to get pretty beat too.

Pay now or pay later. Its pretty simple. Its an investment to protect against the possibility that you'll get tagged with a rock. It happens.

I'm at just under 5k miles and I don't have it. I don't regret it. I drove through one of the worst winters I'm ever likely to see with salt down everywhere, rocks getting kicked up, etc -- and I have no marks.

I honestly don't feel like the paint is as bad as some make it out to be.

Just don't tailgate people and you will cut down on 95% of the problem, imo.

Best investment I ever made on a vehicle. 16K and absolutely no chips on the front of my Z. I had my mirrors, A-pillars and a section in front of the rear wheels done as well ala Porsche. This is the first car that I have has the clear bra installed but I will definitely have it done on any new car that I purchase from now on. When you get your first chip you will hate yourself for not getting it done.

A large bag has 12.5 servings with 11 chips per serving, this means approximately 138 Doritos... Those are a lot of chips on your car...

I would do it for sure. I have 16k on my yellow 09' and the front fascia is horrible. I always stay back aways from people and it still happens. I'm having the fascia and hood repainted next week and immediately having a clear bra installed. Also think about going about a quarter of the way up the hood too.

Within 2wks I had clear bra on my car. Best purchase I made so far. Wanted to do the entire car, but the only thing available at the time was from the fenders forward. Since ur not doing any hwy driving (a shame cus the Z is incredible at hwy speeds) you might be ok with out it. Give it a few months, if you don't see any chips by the end of the year than you don't need it. Congrats on the purchase. It's sad it won't ever see the hwy.

after a year of ownership and about 3k miles, i got one tiny nick less than 2mm on the facia without clearbra. :p

with 25k+ miles 6yrs of ownership, my G has quite a bit more but still looks pretty much brand new. :D

i wish i used clear bra on the white Honda Fit... my wife drive that thing everywhere and no attention to staying back.

New versions of venture shield are a good viable option. The thing is... you need to wash your car at least once every week to 2 weeks. If you dont the film will eventually become scratched/hazy. In 10k miles i have more chips than a lays factory, and I am starting to regret not getting clear bra'd. I dont stay back as far as i should, as Ken chan has pointed out. Also the first 6 months of owning my car was in texas, and that place is horrible for rock chips.

Food for thought!

I did it and it was a great investment
