Security Etching?

So i noticed with a friend today that our 370z windows are different. Mine has an etching on the corner of every window that has a large number and has trackable written about it with some other numbers. needless to say his does not have these. i know you can etch your windows but i never did this it had to have come from the dealership this way does anyone else have this?

That window "etching" is a dealer add-on so they can charge you a few hundred more for something that basically costs them $0. I walked out on a dealer last year because they INSISTED that I get the window etching. They had the balls to say it was PRINTED on the sales sheet so it is mandatory. I told them to remove it or I was walking...And that's just what I did.

And it only works if they find the parts someplace. Which means it's only going to be if they busted a chop shop with the parts in it. What are the chances of finding them once the parts are on another car?

You can but a VIN etching kit for the windows for like $20 if you want to do it yourself.

it's a worthless service. my dealer insisted on doing that as well and wanted $400 for it. i told them NO.
