370z Navigation

A friend of mine has a 2010 nissan 370z touring model. He wants to get the factory navigation. Would he be able to get navigation installed into it? Does anyone know where he would be able to purchase the complete factory navigation?

You can purchase it, but expect to pay way to much for it.
If he really wants navigation look into a double din unit or even a decent portable GPS device.

Yep, cost on factory nav install will be incredibly expensive. The nav unit is integrated into the cars existing electronics–a process I've heard is very complex and time consuming. I can only imagine the number of hours involved at dealer hourly rates, not to mention the cost of the hardware itself.

Had a friend who wanted a factory nav unit installed in a Lexus and was told by the dealer that it would not be worth the expense.

Good luck though, let us know that Nissan says if you still go that route.

Edit: Pulled these costs from another post on the forums:

[25915P] CONT ASSY-IT MASTER - $3687.98 (Main HDD Unit/Disc Player)
[28091] FES VIDEO MONITOR - $795.79 (Screen)
[25975M] ANTENNA ASSY-GPS - $39.83 (GPS Antenna mounted in front dash)
[25391] SW ASSY-PRESET - $576.69 (Front Control Panel)
[68520] LID-CLUSTER - $310.97 (Cover with AC Vents could be a problem if you have red stitching on 40th Ann. model)
[68520+A] LID-CLUSTER - $180.47 (Plastic Cover)
[68175M] BRACKET-AUDIO - $70.84 (Screen Mount)
[28395Q] SW ASSY-ITS & AUDIO $289.65 (Buttons under Nav Screen)
[28242MA] FEEDER-ANTENNA - $68.14 (Wiring Harness)
[28405M] COVER-ELECTRICAL - $25.80 (Covers Flash Slot)

Total: $6,046.16

On top of this, labor will be an added expense.

Don't forget the different wiring harness you will have to install to get the HDD Unit to hook up too.

That will be about 2k before install.

Pioneer makes a great alternative

I am planning to get rid of the cubby and put in one of the portable touch screen ones, and modify the center, paint in piano wood black, just need the right shop.(Not me the owner lol, oh I wish)

would a aftermarket navigation fit where the cubby hole is? or would the whole radio have to come out?
