MCR's New Angel Eyes Headlight Mod with landing strip

As you already seen Socal370z posted these few weeks ago. It seems that they are gaining popularity. Therefore MCR now carrying these headlight rings. I personally love it. I wish Marco or 180 l Custom would make these as well.

Check 'em out:

I'm sure Marco can do it cheaper :). I wonder how hard it would be to do this ..

phelan 06-04-2010 12:42 AM

i'd like to think that those rings are available by themselves, or to have them fabricated will not be that expensive. it's probably just as hard to wire up the iron man LEDs as it is to get the ring working.

probably need to sand down the inside of that projector shroud though. might be a PITA...

so who wants to donate a lamp to me so i can test it out

tao168 06-04-2010 12:52 AM

I want a pair too

You can buy kits for BMW's. They looks just about the same size and it would simply be a matter of installing...

Mazaki 06-04-2010 02:06 AM

Speaking as someone who owned a BMW and retro-fitted it with CCFL angel eyes, I can say from experience that I much rather would have gone with LED angel eyes.

The problem is that CCFLs are quite sensitive to movement and temperature. Knock a CCFL hard enough, and it's out. Get enough extreme temperature differences (running your car during the winter with the lights on), and that would do them in.

My CCFLs (I had 4 rings total) made it through half of the winter before they started to burn out. And they weren't crap quality either.

There are LED complete rings, but I don't think there are any for Zeds yet. If Marco and Ryan could make a complete ring with a hundred-summin' LEDs, that would be fantastic.

Isn't it around the same price anywhere if you had to buy a pair of headlights too?

I did that since my Z is a daily driver. Almost $1700 for a new pair of headlights. :icon14:

Not to be negative. But I would agree if you like these go buy a BMW. It's like the m3 fender vents on a civic

Will they look anything like these? Cuz if not, an Angel Eye 3.0 might be in your future.

Maybe not as much angel eyes... But the M3 vents, yah. Those need to go.

Though BMW forum members tend to make fun of non-BMWs with angel eyes...Though a clean looking Z might change their mind. :happydance:

:iagree:....A lot of my Audi Buddies did this with various kits available over the years. Long term life on the CCFL's is not good. Unless you enjoy taking your headlights apart on a regular basis and the expense of regular replacements, I'd skip and go LED..

JayYoon 07-24-2010 07:58 PM

how much do these cost?
