Like he said ,the front glass is actually an integral part of the structural rigidity of cars...it sort of acts as a brace..make sure its done right.
That's why most insurance companys will fix it for free. It ends up saving them money in the end if your in an accident. I know that State Farm has always done that on my cars and I never paid a dime. |

Yo sophia just call your ins company n find out if you have glass coverage endorsement..if u do then u would pay a small or no ded to replace the glass..glass repair and glass replacement are two different things..some company's will repair chips for free..if u don't have the glass endorsement then ur comprehenisve coverage will take care of it less ur deductible...u might be able to find replacemnt cheaper than ur ded so at that point ur bettr off just paying out of pocket.

A 10in crack is way to large for repair..it definately needs replacemnt

Well...I got a quote today for a replacement windshield....it's gonna run me $420. It's not worth reporting it to my auto insurance since it cost less than my deductable to fix myself. The insurance lady did say that it's only fully covered w/no deductable if there's a chip or small crack..otherwise it won't be covered. But it's getting fixed Friday at my job's parking lot while I'm there working! So very convenient
