Transparent Tint

I had my car tinted yesterday and the installer said he had UV protective film that would significantly reduce the heat coming into the car through the front windshield. This tint is almost optically transparent.

Does anyone know about this? Some googleing revealed these sites:

Automotive Car window tinting UV Shield - Tint Plus

I have the Air Blue on the front windshield. It works very well. Though for the sides and back...I would use the regular colored/dyed versions just for a little privacy issue.

What is it that you are asking though??

I've never heard of this type of clear tint before. I was wondering how effective it is and if it is worth it. I read that it's actually 70% transparency, does it noticeably affect your visibility?

Visually it doesn't affect me at all. As far as heat reduction....I swear I will always get this tint done on all my future cars. It really does make a noticeable difference in heat in the interior of the car.

I always had these on my cars still needs to be done on Z though. and trust me here in summer temp is above 125 degree F, and you wont even feel a pinch on your skin, amazing thing.

Its the UV A & B and infrared which causes that so just check how much protection in UV they are offering one should be 80% and other 50% protection.

How so?

We put the clear tint on my wife's civic and she said that it helps, but it's not cheap and if your window gets chipped and needs to be replaced so does the tint. I don't think that it is worth the extra cost but it's your choice.
