Sunline rear Aero Spats...pics for those w/ install questions!

I've been getting alot of questions on how the rear Sunline Peices are installed on my bumper. I took a few shots to help because a picture is worth a thousand words!!
The top is attached to the bumper w/ adhesive or 3m tape!

The panel wraps around next the fender liner and requires two screws.
http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/432/p4270003.jpg
Beneath the bumper there is an anchor with two sets of small bolts that connect the base to the bumper. Note how lower it is.

Not very difficult to install once painted (FRP model) or just install if Carbon model.

Hope that is helpful for those thinking about purchasing and installing these!!

Very nice man! I love them! So, you have to remove the existing (if any) rear splash guards, am I correct?

Also, lightened the 2nd pic a little (if that helps anyone)

Correct on the rear splash guards. They would have to be removed.
I guess I should've noticed the pic quality, thanks!

definitely looks good on your car. :p

did the 2 holes in the sides line up with the holes from the OEM splash guards? Roughly how much did it cost to paint the spats? I'm getting prices from $250-350 for the 2.

Are these the replicas or the original Sunline pieces ? Because I just recently bought my replicas from Rick and noticed that it didnt come with any bolts or the anchor for attaching the bottom

I didn't have mud guards so I can't answer that. I would guess not seeing how high up the top screw is located. I didn't pay for the painting, they hooked me up since I send them so much business. (I work at a dealership)

No, these are indeed Sunline products that come with all the hardware you see
as stated in Title.

Thanks! I feel once you do this your obligated to get a larger rear spoiler to offset the side to side length. It does get rid of that curve at the lower part of the fender from the rear which I didn't like! Spoiler is on the way!! ;)

Where did you get these from? I love them. Do you plan on getting the sides and front chin??

Bster 05-03-2010 10:50 AM

I love the stance of your car a lot and can't wait for mine to arrive!

Juruki 05-03-2010 12:01 PM

Those side blades on VIP don't look like they are from Sunline though..

SunLine Racing/サンラインレーシング

How is that...Try going to: SunLine Racing USA

Bster 05-04-2010 12:00 PM

Same pics... but still doesn't look like those on VIP's car right?

kevr6 05-04-2010 05:35 PM

VIP was using RX8 rocker extensions and making them fit then they installled the Sunline
peices. Maybe that's what you are looking at. There was some interest so they started to sell them.
VIP is welcome to chime in if I'm in correct!! :icon17:

Bster 05-05-2010 01:31 AM

No worries!

Personally I love the kit from Sunline Racing. A good balance of function without it being outlandish looking.
Take lots of pictures when you have fitted yours!

Kev6! Any updates on your bodykit?!

hey Kev, on your sunline rear spats, do you have a gap like mine? also does your spats go all the way to the center groove or is it just a little short to the groove? Heres my pic.

I don't have my car here but I do remember that it sat closer to the body but not by that much. It does no come up to the center valence line on mine either. On the first pics I posted on this thread save the full vehicle shot on your PC and zoom in and you kind of can see.
