Need Opinions!! Shave bumper or not
2 Attachment(s)
I want your opinions. I'm really confused as to which route i should take.
First off the car is black. Someone backed into me while the car was parked. Very minor damage was done but I do need to paint my front bumper, so i figured i would change the look a bit. I'm stuck between either shaving the front Nissan hamburger, or purchasing the Z front emblem from THE Z STORE. See PICS below. (I FOUND THIS PIC ON HERE I FORGOT WHO THE CAR BELONGS TO) NOTE: Car will have matte black fangs and also matte black headlight housing. |
ssshhhhaaaaavvveeee it!
|
Hey Sal, :hello:
I like the cleaner look... |
i like the Z emblem. You should also clear bra as long as you have a new painted bumper.

If it was between shaved and that carbon fiber "side marker", then I would go with shaved  Or you could do black, it would be there, but blend in stealth like.

Emblems!
Don't like at all without them, the car loses his identity (let some glory for Nissan who designed this fabulous car! At least put a "Z" emblem ;)) |

I would shave it.
Dealership owner did advise me against it because if not done very well the filler tends to crack easily because of the plastic bumper |

Nevermind i just saw a link to your photo album.. did you use the same one for the rear as the front one. i was under the impression they are not the same size..
|
I like the Z emblem on Mod's car. Looks great!
How about a black pearl hamburger on a black car? Black Pearl Emblem |

Ok after 2 weeks its all done.. (i took my time) Still not done, need to fully wax the car
What do you guys think? |
yah, looks better with the logo. ;) jk
|
Do you happen to know about how much this cost?
I got an estimate from an auto body shop near me and they quoted about $730 because I guess our bumpers are very picky. I'm ready to just do it myself but want to have that professional look to it |
Get some Norton Speedgrip, and fill the emblem yourself. Then take it to the Bodyshop for them to clean it up and paint it.

I'll tell you now, the a tube of speedgrip is ~$50 but the special caulking gun is ~$150. You might be able to find the stuff cheaper where you are. Evercoat makes the same kind of stuff that will work in a regular caulking gun. Both products are made for this situation and are not supposed to shrink or crack. Best bet is to find a autobody supply store and tell them what you're planning on doing. Or, pony up the $750 to have the Bodyshop do it all. |
