Reviving this sucker, but that's excellent.

I am going to have to pick this stuff up as I have some chips on mine already and have some bad chips on the hood of my other car that I need to touch up.

WOW! That totally made it look better. I will have to remember that stuff.

I wish I knew about that stuff back in 06 when a kid threw a brick at my driver side door to my 350Z 2 days after I bought it.

I just tried it on Pearl White, because somehow I got a rock chip on the front windshield pillar. I wasn't satisfied with result at all, after several layers. I guess every color handles it differently.

I also tried it on my black Z, wasn't that impressed, but I'm going to give it another try.

It's not going to look perfect, guys. Not unless you fill in the void with some clear coat.

If Billy Mays isn't selling it on TV then it can't be that great.

niterydr 06-05-2009 10:44 PM

:icon18: Billy is the man! He sells by fear and intimidation! He will scare you into buying something you probably don't need.

I'm probably the king of paint chips... I think my car is a magnet for stupid **** like rocks. My latest was a rock about the size of a golf ball. The jacked up hill billy monster truck in front of me threw it off his "muddin tars". I was so pissed off I couldn't stand it. Hit me right on the hood. I ordered the official touch up paint from nissan and it did ok I guess. It's a two stage process with the paint and the sparkle clear coat. If I can remember I will take some pics.

I would love to see pictures!!

I've got ridiculous amounts of chips on the front end of my Z already..

And last night, my accidentally wedged my fender underneath a wood bench in the garage and scraped it up and put a small dent there.. Sigh. Hard to "feel" the wideness of the car when I park sometimes.

In the end, it's a car. It bothers me my nearly 40k car is getting slowly destroyed but i'm not going to obsess over it. Silver though, hides imperfections better than certain colors luckily.

Well, Billy Mays or not, I'm going to give this stuff a try. I just found a couple good sized chips on my front bumper while I was washing the car today.

I didn't have too many issues using it on my PW Z. I mean, I didn't go in there with high expectations due to the fact that PW is a 3 stage paint and knowing the only way i'm going to get perfect results is a repaint. But, it definitely covers the chips/scratches up well enough that it takes a good amount of inspecting to notice, but I can definitely see how if I had some larger chips or scratches in bunches that it would start to look like crap. But it is what it is, for the price you can't beat it.

kensin0429 11-25-2010 06:53 PM

anyone done it on 40th color?

rtrono 11-25-2010 07:01 PM

I had to use it on my hood. It covered pretty good. You can see it if you really look or in the right light but it is better than before. I also used it to touch up a little rash I put on one of my rims. Not perfect but better than the shiny stuff under the paint that made me sick.

I decided to revive this thread since I've decided to touch up a few spots on the used Z I just bought. I was originally looking at the factory touch up paint with the separate clear coat, and then I found this thread where people mentioned Dr. Colorchip and Langka. Looks like I'm going to try out Dr. Colorchip.
