Anyone Else have terrible swirls?

So ive had my Z since june (its black), take great care of it, use the full Zaino line of products as well as Meguiars Detailer Brands to maintain the vehicle yet these swirls are overwhelming. I just ordered a Meguiars DA buffer to eliminate this problem ill post pics and let you know how it goes.

It shouldn't have these terrible blemishes/swirls this early in its life and as well as ive kept my other cars this one just seems to be the hardest! (and yes ive had other black cars but none of them had paint issues like this). So i just needed to get this off my chest and Vent! thanks for understanding guys.

You are not alone on this. :shakes head:

Its black... what you expect? lol. for starters, its ALL about washing and drying to keep a great finish and have as swirl free car as possible. make sure you clay your car before polishing. Take some time and the buffer. Mequiars m-205 and m-105 polishes are great, finish it with Menzerna PO85RD. That will truly jewel your paint to perfection. get the best pads you can get like LC. 4"/5.5" sizes will help the DA Polisher to work better. I like Wolfgang sealant, Optimum opti-seal, blackfire sealants. Top with a carnuba wax, best you can afford of course. P21S/Poor boys world(Natty's RED) are the best bang for your buck I've ever found. DoDo, Pinnacle, and wolfgang fuzion are my choice for waxes.
Only advise I can give, so have at it.
Alex

I use meguires whole line. I found a box set for 14.00 bucks! Can't beat that! I wash my car every weekend and so far no swirls. I just waxed her for the first time last weekend and i have yet to see any swirls I would recommend trying it out.

Here you go I couldnt find the target link but here is one on amazon.com

Amazon.com: Meguiar's Classic Wash & Wax Kit: Automotive

Im sure if you goto target you will find it. I luckily found this when I was buying all these products seperatly but then found this set at the end of the isle lol

I just read the title and that's it, let me guess it's black.

All the Z's/G's, no matter what colour it is gets the same amount of swirls. It's just on black... it's more noticeable. Time for you to buy a Porter cable and have fun!

Vegasboricua 02-17-2010 05:41 PM

Sorry for the newb question but whats a porter cable?

It's an orbital bluffing machine. It helps to remove the swirls with ease. Don't worry about burning the paint or something. Just don't keep the buffer in the same place.

Vegasboricua 02-17-2010 05:52 PM

Ohh cool thanks!

SophiaZ 02-17-2010 06:43 PM

Nissan paint is horribly soft. I also have a black Z and every swirl, scratch...it all shows. But damn it still looks good when it's clean :)

Vegasboricua 02-17-2010 06:48 PM

I had a 2003 Honda SI Hatchback last year...That was the first and last black car I bought lol. White is so much better, especially here in Vegas it keeps cleaner longer. Only thing I need now are some splash guards lol

found the trick! here you go

Z-PC Fusion Dual Action Paint Cleaner Swirl Remover: Zaino Store
Z-5 PRO Show Car Polish for Swirl Marks and Fine Scratches: Zaino Store

problem solved :tiphat:

abakja1 02-18-2010 12:26 AM

if its black, you will see all the imperfections...

Claying, PP, and laying down corrections and wax or sealants prevent the swirls, just correct it,..

Im sure its in the way you wash and dry your car that is causing the swirls...Make sure you use a clean mitt like Smitts or other, and a large drying microfiber towel to "blot" dry and not wipe off...

One really needs to be "anal" to have a perfect looking car for its paint, so I just let it go as the manufacturer is not going to lay down coats of color coat and clearcoat.

Detailer from my Nissan dealer works his magic on black beauty every two months. So far no swirls. These guys have the products and know every trick in the book.

Hey Guys.....had the same problem. Worst swirls on any black car I've owned. Finally hired a perfectionist who buffed it for two days in my garage. Never been happier
