Bike hit my car and cracked my side skirt!!!!

My car was parked on the street and some guy on a bike managed to slam into the side of my car and crack the side skirt on the passengers side! Luckily that's the only damage that was done, but the skirt is definitely not repairable. I'm actually thinking about just picking up the S-tune side skirts and putting them on because I've always liked them. How do you guys think this would look without the rest of the kit?

topcarbon 02-03-2010 05:57 AM

.........and the bike?

resdm50 02-03-2010 07:02 AM

It was a regular bike that hit my car, not a motorcycle. The rider was fine and actually offered to pay for all of the damages surprisingly.

It would probably look odd without the front lip.

Surprisingly? Sounds like it was his fault, to me...

Oh, it absolutely was. The surprising part is that I didn't know it happened, I was in the house and my car was parked outside when it went down. He actually knocked on my door and told me what had happened which was nice. I guess there are still some honest people out there.

DIGItonium 02-03-2010 10:35 PM

Maybe he was texting? :ugh:

Man that stinks... hope you get your Z looking new again.

Personally? I'd give 'em something back. Case of beer or something lol. Not many people would do something like that anymore, its sad.

resdm50 02-04-2010 11:46 AM

Yeah, I almost feel bad for the guy. But by the same token, he did smash into my car, lol. The crazy part is that a replacement skirt painted is going to run about $700 while I can get a set of the S-tunes painted for about $600. Seems like a no brainer to me?

tjlazer 02-04-2010 12:34 PM

Do it and also get the S-Tune front lip.

dlmartin81 02-04-2010 12:45 PM

:rofl2:HAHAhaha.....not laughing at your situation....I feel for ya.....sucks to have something happen to your car when you weren't even involved. BUT how in the world does someone on a bike manage to hit a parked car and damage a side-skirt. That dude must have felt like an idiot. Was he on crack....or staring at some hot chick's a$$...lol....come on.

370zproject 02-04-2010 01:02 PM

that sucks dude any pics?

resdm50 02-04-2010 03:05 PM

I honestly don't know what happened, all he said is he fell and and slid into my car. He must have been going pretty fast though because the skirt is completely cracked in 2 places, I'll snap some pics later. Looks like the best price I can get on the s-tunes is $589 which sounds pretty good. I'm guessing that's the best deal I'll find? Or do you guys think I should just spend extra for 1 stock skirt?

Bada Bing 02-04-2010 06:16 PM

Does Toyota make a bike? Maybe the pedal got stuck.

I thoroughly laughed at this.

I actually have the s-tune skirts sitting in my house now, I'm waiting to put them on. I think they will look fine without the rest of the kit. I hope so at least, lol.

If you could throw some pics up when you get it installed, that would be awesome. I know a ton of people have the skirts on their car, does anyone have them without the rest of the kit?

Haha, I thought about the amuse, I just really like the s-tunes though. Especially in black.

resdm50 02-08-2010 11:51 AM

Just ordered the S-tune sides, I think I'm going to attempt and install them myself when they come.

earwicker7 02-08-2010 07:42 PM

That almost happened to me the other day. I pulled out of a parking lot and looked over to my right and saw some douchebag speeding towards my passenger door. Thank god he managed to stop in time. The bikers in LA suck... I'd run them over if it wouldn't get me jail time.

If it would just stop snowing here in Philly for a minute, then maybe I could get them on. At this rate I won't be able to put them on for a few months, lol.

Chico370Z 04-01-2010 04:08 PM

any updates? like to see this installed

shoopajae10 04-02-2010 02:13 PM

that kid has a good morale... but wait until he finds out how much it will cost.... O_O..
