Drivers Side Turn Signals Issue
Hello fellow Z members. I’ve had an issue plaguing my Z for a few weeks now. I’ve done some searching and trouble shooting, but still have the issue and not sure the cause.
Issue started after I had cleaned some heavy corrosion from my battery terminals. Of course now I need a new battery as the negative terminal will not stay connected no matter how tight the bolt is. 2009 370z 257K Miles Original alternator Morimoto headlights OEM tails with LEDs Morimoto side markers Passenger side all function correctly. Hazards work on passenger side. Indicators flash on the dash, but no turn signal from drivers side headlight, taillight or side marker. I highly doubt 3 bulbs went out simultaneously. Not to mention the side markers and headlights are less than a year old. I did check the frustratingly annoying fuse box near the battery. All fuses are fine. |
Got no idea how to help you out man, but I'm just impressed by the mileage of your car. Nice!

You said Morimoto so who knows with their quality issues. BTW see post #15 here http://www.the370z.com/exterior-inte...t-hid-led.html

I was going to add to the quality issue. From posts I have read re: Morimoto light issues, they don't seem to like electrical anomolies from the car.
I wouldn't even try to install them without battery disconnected. Making sure all connections are tight and stable etc. Seems they are very sensitive to resistance and current flow. |
I have read a plethora of issues with morimoto. I will say I had issues myself, but it turned out to be my factory pigtails. I replaced both pigtails and the lights worked. Morimoto shipped me 4 different replacement lights while I figured out the issue. So at least the customer service was too notch.
I dropped a new battery in today. Car starts fine but no change on the turn signal. |
UPDATE: new battery and rear OEM turn signals. Issue still remains. Going to replace my negative ground cable tomorrow as it’s had one too many tightening/loosening sessions over 15 years, and examining the side marker next.
|
UPDATE: New ground is great. Solid connection. Swapped side markers. No change in anything. Likely thinking the morimoto headlight itself may be the culprit.
