Wiper thread...

Yea, boring, I get it, but just spent $70 to replace the oem wipers this morning. Good news is they work great! Bad news is they look like ****!

Went with Rain-ex something or the other.. I kept the oem wipers. Anyone know if I can put “refills” in them?

I’m sure it’s my OCD, and I’ll probably get used to them, but these new wipers draw my eye! Big bulgy things... yuck... I can’t stop staring at them...

Nissan Canada used to sell rubber refills. They stopped doing that and just sell generic, auto parts store brands.

I just got Bosch Icons for the Murano. They look good and work great and last long time. Expensive though.

zz

That's what happens when you move out into the boonies - everything costs more.

I use rain-x latitude wipers and they last me a few years before I have to replace them. They've been marketed as being able to contour to the curvature of the windshield and I can attest that they hold up to their function.

Like this? I kept my old wiper blade arms...but I plan on buying refills, seems a bit cheaper for better quality?

That’s what they are! I should clarify that I don’t like the looks of them from the inside of the car. I saved the old arms and will get refills.

Well that sucks... do people only change one side at a time?

Yea, they really do look like chit. Apparently the “installer” didn’t put the plastic caps on the knuckles. I’ll see what they look like when the trim is added.

Right now, I can’t stand them...

I walked in to Advance and looked at what they had. Walked out and went to Nissan. I may have bought brand new wiper blades. I can't remember. I rarely drive my car in the rain these days. R888r tires will do that to you. If it is raining, I take my truck.

Only wipers I'll ever use are PIAA Super Sporza's, which are available as refills. Note that the refill channel which slides into the blade claws is "wide" as there are two variations with wipers "wide" and "narrow". I can't recall if the OE blades have wide or narrow claws to hold the refill.

I did the same (drive truck) with another (non daily) car I owned with R888's but had a 2nd set of wheels/tires for travel and rainy season. If the Z is clean I'll still drive the truck rather than knowingly get it dirty, thereby initiating another chore by having to wash it.

Ok so it's time for me to change wipers. I could have sworn I bookmarked an OEM replacement video but I can no longer find it.

But I was today's years old when I found out they sell just the rubber blade. At this point I wouldn't mind OEM or not. I also do not want an eyesore with my OCD as someone else mentioned. Anyone recommendation? Whatever is easier to install (the rubber refill or not). AutoZone wipers are way too expensive. Both need to change.

Is this link actually white or just a picture with wraps?

a year ago I bought the OEM replacement blades - and - they completely fell apart over the summer.... I now went with some cheaper stupid looking rain-x blades.. don't love the look but hopefully they last longer...

I've found "Aero" brand beam style sourced on Amazon in pre packaged pairs with included refills hold up very well and are very cost effective.

I have them on the wife's car that's a daily and parked outside at work, and on 2 trucks parked outside 24/7 with one being in service 8-10 hrs. per day. Note: not a cold climate user.

EDIT: I'm not sure why images are not embedded so I'll just add links.

Hey all,

I finally bought the rainx blades but I'm having an issue wanting to know if this is normal or what I did wrong.

As you can see my OEM used to go all the way to the left but this one doesn't. Is it the wiper or an install issue?

Not sure. I forget which side has the 21 and which has the 19, but start with that first.

I went to OEM blade housings again just because I didn't have to worry about fit and the refills are cheap
