Carbon fiber brake duct inlets.
Hey folks,
I'm looking for some carbon fiber inlets that will fit a 2015+ Nismo front bumper. I'm looking for something that will fit the new Z1 brake duct kit, the dimensions are 2.5". Thanks! Chad https://www.z1motorsports.com/brake-...t-p-21496.html |
Far as I know. No one makes any ducts for the V2 Nismo bumper. To get the new Z1 kit to work. You will have to use generic ducts.
|
Thanks Rusty! Looks like that may be the only option at this point. Do you think that the ones you have would fit somewhat flush with the V2 bumper?

The ones I have came from Nissan Motorsports. They listed for $612 a piece in the catalog. I don't know if they are still available. They was for a 4" hose which I had to adapt to use with a smaller hose. A lot of work. You might want to try Finite Element.

Yeah, I think I'm gonna contact finite fitment, and see where I can go from there. Hopefully, I can come up with something that I can live with.

I spoke with Ben at ZCFcovers about this.
He was not aware of any carbon ducts available. Would have to be a molded part meaning many needing to be produced to be profitable. Seems the item would answer to a niche market. Suggested a option would be to "re-purpose" an available carbon part for the duct. Items like small carbon canards etc. could be used if you are creative. |
No one makes ducts for that bumper. Z1 did a custom set up on their time Attack Z
Google “battle boyz Z34” , a German race team that uses generic circular ducts for the 15+ bumper Another blue car on Instagram that does tracking did the same, but I can’t find his name |

Here is the Z1 Global Time Attack Z. It appears they are using the stock openings on the lower part of the bumper. I cannot find any clear pictures of the back of that bumper, so I don't know what they are using to hook up the ducting, but it is an irregular shape so it's probably a custom set up. The openings look like they have been opened up more as well.

Thanks for all the info guys! I made a couple of calls today, Finite Element, and Synergy Composite. Looks like I'm leaning towards the general circular ones. I know they are not as attractive as the custom carbon ones, but they should get the job done. Thanks again for all the help!

i'm not sure why both BattleBoyz and Ivan put their ducts so much closer to the center - on pure aesthetics, moving it outward to be "centered" under the DYRL would look better. An inch or two can't affect airflow THAT much, can it? Just me
Anyways, i bought this kit off ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Revotec-51m...gAAOSwNkJaEFVO 51mm = 2 inch, matches the Stillen kit that includes backing plates Z1, however, just came out with a new kit, that actually just came out: https://www.z1motorsports.com/brake-...t-p-21496.html 2.5 inches = 71 mm i believe For the passenger side, it would be easier to dump the washer fluid reservoir. If you have a vented hood its pointless anyways |
2" hose is easy to route. Try routing 3" hose. It's a PITA!

huh
that actually looks pretty good |
