Roof overlay and mirror overlays on SIMOTA1s z :D
 

hey everyone... so i finally decided to do the overlay.... here are some pics...

my side mirrors...

overall... i spent about 25 dollars for the vinyl... i bought a 4x4 sheet from a local sticker store... i wrapped the roof and my side mirrors myself... it took a really really long time for the roof.... it took me about 4-5 hours working on it... heating and shrinking... then stretchen the vinyl to make it wrap... i also had a friend help me... it is sooo difficult to pull the vinyl and hold the heat gun while trying to squeegee out the wrinkles...:tup: the side mirrors although had major curves only took me about an hour per side.... the outcome i think is great :D tell me wat u guys think?

also helps me visualize it when i get the carbon fiber parts in, thanks hahaha

i dont have a link becuase i bought it locally..... i know its made by 3m and its exterior grade.... and they call it premium grade i believe?

it was self.... most of the shops out here dont even wanna deal with wrapping cars.... idk why though... i was willing to pay my vinyl guy up to 150 for installing it.... but he didnt want... so i just did it myself... and it was free.... :tup:

why wat? why wrap my roof? because i like the look... and im not ready to spend 800 dollars on the sunline roof cap which serves no function but just looks nice....

Great job. I love it. You car looks really good. All your mods are done so simply yet they look so good. :tup: :tup: . It think you have the record for spending least amount of money on mods ($7 rear valance mod, painted stock rims, $20 headlight blackout, now cheap vinyl mod etc) yet it turned out to be one of the best looking red z34 on the forum.

I think it might work, but with a roof overlay it might become to much. I know there was a photoshop around here somewhere with them blacked out but I cannot find it now.

With the A-pillar similar to the GT-R (unlike the 350Z), I wonder how it would look with our blacked out headlights heh... sounds like a paint job or CF mod in the future! :tup:

looks very good... I did this on my 07 Maxima.. I can feel your pain the roof is a pain in the ***... Mine was in 2 pieces with a cutout for the skyview... trying to tuck that vinyl in took fking forever..
