A/C actuator loud clicking noise 2009 370z
Can someone tell me how many actuators there are in the 2009 370 touring model? Started up the car today and when the A/C was 'on' there is a loud clicking noise that is right behind dashboard. Seems to be near glove box area, but not exactly sure yet.
I have been looking for a technical diagram for the 2009 370 z that shows me where the actuators are located. I saw a youtube video where a person with a Nissan titan truck had to completely take apart the dash in order to replace two of his 5 acutators. UGH! But I also saw another video where the guy replaced it from the glove box area (that was on a titan truck though). But hoping it is a actuator that can be replaced without ripping the entire dash off the car. The second I turned off the A/C the noise goes away 100%, and the fan is still blowing. And then when I turn on the A/C again the loud clicking comes back. For whatever its worth, that is as far as I have gotten to know for sure what is going on. |
The FSM is what you are looking for. Link in my sig.

Found the actuator
So I removed glove box, and found the answer. Sorry I dont know name of the big round white device right behind the glove box. But attached to the right side of it, is an actuator. And I can feel all the clicking is coming from that. I also see the little white trap door trying to open/close when I look way up inside of that area above the big white plastic device.
That is the actuator that needs to be replaced. Now I have to determine if its going to be easy to remove or not. It is kind of a tight space over there on the right side of the glove box. hmmmm At least its not buried inside the console. I will remain hopeful I can just remove and replace it without tearing out too much stuff. |
Did you find a solution?
