LRB Speed door cards

LRB Speed in Clearwater, FL has just finished up designing a set of aluminum door cards for the 370Z. These will shed approximately 8lbs from the car. Stock speaker placement is retained(or not, optional), as well as the mirror adjustment knob and window switches. Pull straps included. Landon is getting pricing on powdercoating today, but since this job has to be outsourced, he will need a minimum of 10 orders for this to become an option.

Note: I am in no way affiliated with this company and stand to make no commission or other financial gain other than the savings of the group buy price.

It may be another day or so before we have a set group buy price as he's waiting on the powdercoat quote, but you guys will know as soon as I do. :tiphat:

For only 3 lbs of weight savings it is not worth it in my eyes.

soill370z 01-23-2020 11:18 AM

^ true, should have made them out of something lighter

What's the point? :icon14:

Three lbs of weight savings is laughable, and they're ugly :ugh:

*edit* So my original post here was based on the thought that both panels saved 3 lbs total, which I felt was
I'm guessing the original post was 3 lbs per side ... and now the update to 8 lbs is a total of 4 lbs per side?
Or maybe it was 3 lbs total before and now updated to 8 lbs total?

Looking forward to seeing the finished product. As cv said, maybe a colored finish will hide the switch box. Seems kinda dumb to put a speaker in it if doing the mod for weight savings but whatever. To each their own. Didn't mean to sound so harsh :tiphat:

What is the market for these? For racing they just throw everything out and leave the shell.

Function > Form. They can be powdercoated, wrapped, spray painted, body shop/paint matched, burned, or any other method of coloring/discoloring of metal.

These are to finish out the interior instead of having a gaping hole in the door where you tore the panel off. The focus is to have a more finished look in a track car where you would also benefit from the weight loss in disposing of the speaker, wiring, and possibly even replacing the window w/ lexan or the like. There is also, obviously, an option for those who want to keep the speakers. The door panels are already plastic, and thin at that, so there isn't necessarily much left on the table piece vs piece, but the accumulation w/ the assumed direction of the build process nets more total reduction.

Nice idea for the folks that like to take their DD to the track.

For a dedicated track car, it's unnecessary weight.

Seems like a solution looking for a problem with the speaker option. If one is all that worried about weight, why haul speakers (plus HU and wiring) around?

I thought you would be all over these. :rofl2:

3lbs for such small area isn’t bad, but the price + ugliness isn’t worth the 3lbs saves for me.

tonythetiger 01-24-2020 09:05 PM

any carbon fiber options?

Ultrakla$$ic 01-25-2020 04:45 PM

I just take the doors off of mine when I head to the track! Don't need no stinkin doors!:p

Waiz 01-26-2020 12:21 AM

Not feeling this, just looks like it's a flat piece of metal attached to the door

OMGWTFBBQ 01-26-2020 08:52 PM

There’s another option for guys who are looking for the same thing:
