Daily driver - 370z sits outside - car cover worth it?

So title says it all...

My car is ceramic coated - and it sits outside in Florida. I tend to wash it off every night with water ...

Would a car cover be smart - or does it tend to leave scratches from particles?

Thanks!

If you wash the car properly before putting on the cover and the cover fits properly, you'll be better off with the cover. Otherwise, don't bother.

I’m in Tampa, FL. Aside from the sun, I also worry about saltwater as I’m 10 min away from the gulf. There’s also other elements that I worry about, such as the lawn people mowing the grass and getting debris on it or blowing all that crap onto your car, people parking next to it and potentially dinging it, or kids playing near it and possibly touching it with their grimy hands, etc.

Then you have hurricane season, which ceramic coating will not protect from hail or a tree falling.

I don’t believe in car covers, as I feel this will attract unwanted attention.

Garage is your best bet.

/Sigh..
I know. :(

Oh and Sarasota here :)

If you're daily driving the Z a car cover will cause more paint damage than it prevents.

If its sitting in your driveway and gets taken out once a week or so, it could be a good investment.

Oh sh*t, so you know exactly what I’m talking about for the saltwater, since you’re literally across the bridge on the same gulf lol.

definitely... just get the dust off before putting on the car cover and leave the windows open a bit to keep the interior cooler.

Why would anyone want to leave their windows open overnight? I park my car inside a garage, which I have a camera in there as well, but still have my windows up and locked.

The windows have been down on my Z in the garage for about 3 years now without issue :twocents:

I would have a mouse/red squirrel apartment complex crop up in my interior if I left the windows down that long in the garage. :icon17:

When parking a vehicle outside it also depends on what material the car cover you are using is? Use a car cover that is meant for outdoor use. Refrain from using your car cover if your Z is dirty or it is windy outside as scratches on your clearcoat can and will happen. Repainting your Z isn’t cheap. The best car cover will cost you money and the overall best car covers I have used are the Genuine Nissan “Nismo” car cover from Nissan South Union City which I’m currently using and the Technalon car cover from the Z store. Also the Cover King car covers are good quality too.

Ugh, not en easy decision. I would look into somehow getting a car port or something. Sun kills the paint and with a cover no matter how diligent you are eventually wind will scratch up parts of it. Have you considered getting a wrap.

Yeah so, it's ceramic coated - which should help against sun...

I'm looking into a car port, but they're so damn ugly. Trying to figure out the best solution - besides - 'get a garage' :)
