order a powered subwoofer that may fit in rear seat storage

It's the jl audio acp108lg-w3v3 LINK . Should be able to fit it directly in the rear storage floor cutout. It's close, within half an inch. Arriving in 7 days. This is a ported sub that has an integrated amp.

Good luck man! I don't know if you have the Bose system or not, but the system/sub get loud enough for me until I realize I am probably damaging my hearing. (I play electric guitar and definitely have a feel for when damage is occurring.)

I guess replacing the Bose sub would be a good idea if you are really into rap and/or electronic music. Or if you just want to bring the loudness to the next level.

Doesn't have Bose, but the previous owner had a powerful system installed. Too bad he removed the amps and subwoofer setup leaving me with a trunk missing a spare tire and full of dynomat. I've since bought most of the missing items (spare tire, jack, etc).

Congrats, I love me some JL Audio subs (believe me, I’ve been through a few throughout the years)!

I had a W6 in a JL box [left over from a previous car] and now have an 8” (I wish, lol) W7 in a SlapBox (by Life After Bass), but as much as I love how they hit, they just take up too much real estate in our Zs.

I bit the bullet and ordered a JL Stealthbox, so I’m hoping to finally be happy.

Threadjack over. Congrats again and look forward to your review.

The pic I have attached shows where I place my JL sub. Mine appears to be similar in size to what you are getting. Are you talking about putting yours directly behind the back of the seat, where the small "shelf" and compartment for the owner's manual are (at least on the passenger's side)?

Congrats on the JL sub. You'll love it!

yes! if it won't fit there i'll try somewhere else. Do you keep yours in place with velcro ?

Rear seats for a small dog or hamsters.

Almost tight fit with around 1/4 to 1/2” of wiggle room all around.

Are you gonna leave it there? That's actually pretty awesome

Yes! Not sure if it should face forward or back. Going to ask the installer for enough wiring to reach the trunk area.

RonRizz 11-11-2019 08:02 AM

not enough clearance to face it backwards, IMO........ grill would be right on plastic panel.
you want to keep at least 1.5-2" clear in front of sub.

No velcro necessary, even with "spirited" driving. There seems to be enough friction between the fabric on the sub and the rear mat. I've never had it move around on me - although I remove it, and everything else in the back, when on track.

I like the idea of where you have placed yours. What are your plans to secure it if/when someone in your passenger seat moves the seat forward?

saintluk2 11-12-2019 01:06 PM

Yeh this thing kicks ***. It's facing the front of the car with the seat back keeping it in place. Rich bass! I don't think you'd be too impressed if it was in a sedan's trunk, but because it's so close and in such a small cabin. It's perfect. I've only listened to Tech n9nes albums on a 2 hour drive yesterday. Fills the low notes like the old Kicker Hideaway sealed (150rms) couldn't dream of.

I don't know. I want to modify the car as little as possible though.
