Doors Won't Stay Open

*Yes I know this has been a problem since the 350Z, but could not find any solutions in searching forums*

I, as I'm sure many other Z owners are, am getting really sick of my doors not staying open at either of the hinge catch points and getting my shin, shoulder or whatever I'm carrying crunched. Has anyone come up with any kind of solve for this issue?

I've adopted a particular way of getting out of the Z so that my knee pivots and holds the door.

You could also remove the doors #problemsolved

This is the one thing that angers me daily about my 370Z.

I used to have an '07 350Z, and I can attest that the doors stay open much better on a 370Z than a 350Z. There is a certain point on the 370Z where the door "clicks" in place and doesn't shut as easily.

A solution is close the door as soon as you get inside the car.

Agreed! I had an '05 350Z and those doors completely disregarded the laws of physics - I could be nose-down in a ditch and the door would swing shut on me as I tried to get out.

Forget physics. The doors on a 350Z still shut even if I had my foot trying to hold it open. Makes me appreciate the 370Z doors, and the car, that much more. Maybe on the next Z, we can have doors that just won’t close lol.

Not to get off topic, but I don’t miss the much heavier rear trunk hatch and the crappier blind spot view from the smaller windows of the 350Z. Oh and that annoying rear strut bar. And how everything scratches so easily like the window arm rest.

That rear strut bar :gtfo2: .. I stripped all the plastics out of the trunk bc there was no room. Note to Nissan: if you have to put a sticker in the trunk explaining how to load two golf bags, you need to redesign.

Yeah this is about how I thought this was going to go

Tap the unlock button on the key fob once, then, press unlock again and hold down the button. Get a running start and dive through the window.
