Blacked out my headlights (Pearl White Z)

Well I wasn't sure if I would like it or not but just decided to go for it. I'm actually really happy with how it turned out. I think it will look even better with black wheels and possibly blacked out fangs.

It was just about dark when I got home so the pics are pretty crappy. I'll try to get better ones this weekend.

very nice

looks to be a satin paint not matte correct?

puckshaw 01-11-2010 07:38 PM

Thanks! Yep went with satin, good eye ;)

NewYorkJon34 01-11-2010 08:50 PM

Is that paint or tint? It doesn't look too bad, how's your visibility at night?

puckshaw 01-12-2010 07:38 AM

I just opened the headlights up and painted the chrome/silver pieces. I haven't drove it at night yet but light output should be roughly the same. The pattern might be a little off since it won't reflect off all the sides as well as stock. I'm sure it'll be fine though.

Looks good. Have you considered the black roof and rear valence?

puckshaw 01-12-2010 11:31 AM

Thanks guys :)

A black roof had crossed my mind but I haven't given it any serious thought yet. I like the idea of a CF or black rear diffuser. This weekend I think I'm going to paint the wheels black for starters

I'm on the north edge just a few miles away from Lowes Motor Speedway and Concord Mills Mall.

Yes sir! I had the dealer swipe the seats out of another Z on the lot. I was dead set on persimmon. It's weird, everyone seems to love or hate the seats. Mostly people hate them, including the girlfriend. The dealer seemed happy to swap them into my car so he could get rid of them :icon14:

fatcat777 01-12-2010 07:44 PM

I'm up that way fairly often. Yea my wife hates the persimmon as well, but i love it.

Nice, I'll have to keep an eye out for you

dalparadise 01-12-2010 08:21 PM

Looks really great. Nice work!

I'd leave the wheels alone, if I were you. They are too nice and I think you will regret doing it afterward. Just my opinion. Nice Z.

Thanks man!

I'm honestly not a big fan of the sport wheels. They're just a bit too busy for my taste. I've seen them painted black and I think it looks great. Seems to tone them down a bit. I'm pretty set on painting them.

Look into powder coating them gunmetal gray. That would look great on your car and would last longer/resist scratching.

I'm actually in that area pretty often but the Z isn't my daily driver. So keep an eye out for me when the weather is nice ;)

I already painted them black myself with wheel paint. Had a rough start but after some effort I'm really happy with how they turned out and they're holding up great so far  Here's the thread: Link

I'd kill for the persimmon leather seats !!!!!!! I want them so bad, but I have the cloth seats so I'm gonna get leather seats done by Katskinz unless someone ends up selling their pretty pretty leather seats :)

Yeah I've only seen like 2 or 3 370's around here. I'd be down for a meet if someone organized it. Even better, we should get a group together and drive out to the Dragon or something :excited:

For the wheels, you can check out this thread: I think I should have waited to paint my wheels

Or you can check em out in person at a meet one day
