Has anyone.....

made/drilled 2 extra holes for rear licence plate/frame?

I have tried countless methods to reduce the "buzz" from that stupid two hole set up. (why are they so cheap and stupid not to hold it down with 4 bolts)

Anyway, I've managed to find a frame that has reduced the buzz significantly, but it's still two holes and still room for vibration. ( Weathertec clear frame)

Pics will be great. 2017 Nismo BTW. I'm sure I can mirror image the existing holes, but just looking for some feedback and any do's and don't and hardware advise.

tia.

You don't need to do that. I fixed it with a scrap of leftover foam from my sound deadener install. Just stick something on the back of the license plate and frame.

:iagree: My license plate frame came with foam rectangles that i just stuck to the back of the plate towards the bottom, no noise!

Do you have to legally have a frame?

If not double sided Automotive tape might be a solution?

Personally, I would try to avoid "Extra Holes".

My frame faded in the Texas sun years ago. Removed it and have run bare license plate ever since. No noise ever. With frame or without.

My frame has the aftermarket backup cam from prior owner attached. Used to rattle badly, especially w FI exhaust. Took a strip of foam tape, like that used for aftermarket door speakers, and affixed it to the back of the frame and the back of the plate. No mo' rattle.

I've tried the foam thing. Just makes a mess. Tried with no frame as well. Maybe it's our cheap *** plates with crappy tin.

Yeah, I want to avoid drilling etc.

I will now have to experiment with different foam tapes.

It just seems really illogical to provide only two holes where everything comes with 4 holes. Mechanically speaking, it would seem logical to hold something so thin and wobbly with 4 bolts. (SMH@ Nissan)

Thanks guys. Appreciate as always.
