Key light on help PLZ
So I went to drive my Z and noticed the key light stays on. My car still starts fine but I have a hard time turning it off now. I will have to keep tapping the on/off button repeatedly. I have a newer key so the batteries are not low in fob so if anybody has some ideas what it’s causing this I appreciate it.

Your 09’ should still have the steering lock; as my 1st 11’ model did as well.
Reasons on this thread are from battery in fob to communication errors. If it has a steering lock still in place; I recommend to remove the steering lock fuse while the switch is in the on mode (steering unlocked)...this will prevent a future failure of steering lock,no start,etc... They stopped putting them on around 2013 |
I thought if i had a steering lock issue that it wouldn't start or will that affect turning off the vehicle as well?

One post on that thread talked about interference between key fob & cell phone |

I will try remove the fuse and get back to....

Also try using key fob slot in dash...overrides a dead battery in fob

I had a similar issue. Disconnected the battery overnight and it went away for good.

Ok so I just pulled the fuse and its still the same. My abs and tcs lights are also lit up and I'm getting codes P1212 and U1001. I really hope someone can point me in the right direction because I only have access to one dealership and I really don't like dealing with them..

Fixed it finally, I think my switch to cut power to my YAW sensor bumped something and popped a fuse. I found a blown 10a fuse for the ABS CONT (in the hidden fuse box by the battery). Now my car turns off with one press and my key light is gone...thanks everyone for the help
