All were customized locally in Taiwan. The new bumper is a hybrid design for which the upper half is made from FRP while the lower half is made from CF.

Hope you enjoy these works. ^___^

Wow man i love that bumper, i kinnda wish DLR wasn't there because it takes away from the sleek look, it looks like you took OEM nismo and what other bumper to make this?

OptionZero 05-16-2019 11:09 AM

i dont like how the DYRL were integrated, they break up the flow of the bumper

the way they're oriented goes against how the rest of the bumper is shaped

Either delete, or mold the bumper to use a different light

It was made from scratch if your taking about the one with candy red kits (half FRP, half CF). It allows most air to pass through the three coolers inside the bumper. The one shown in the upper links was modified from the OEM bumper. :D

It looks like whoever made this kit was going for opening shaped similarly to this:

This is the 3dDesign Japan BMW M3 - the bumpers are similarly shaped

Do you see how the DYRLs break up the bumper? The lights themselves are shaped to go against the flow of the bumper, and the housing creates additional protusions

thats what bugs me

The aerodynamics isn't that bad in terms of the integrated DRLs. I personally likes it and that's why it was designed that way. The lastest bumper with candy red kits increases certain drag but it was designed for maximum cooling capacity, due to the large front mount intercooler, engine oil cooler, and trans oil cooler inside the bumper. The cooling efficiency drops off dramatically without better in-bumper air circulation and more fresh air flowing into it. The car puts down big power with stock engine and 7AT tranny so it is necessary evil. I was going to have a nismo bumper in the beginning and found out it was not enough to meet the cooling demand for my AT Z. We have been witnessing over 44 degree Celsius outside here and it's been a tough job to drive it half day. :icon14:

Wow nice! Mine is like a hybrid style of your posted one and the nismo bumper. Didn't see the BMW bumper you showed. I guess such a bumper style has been deeply rooted in my mind for these 1.5 years. :D

I'm not talking about aerodyanmics, i could care less about then since this isn't a race car

You're going on and on about cooling and whatever but the DYRL's don't affect that at all. If you wanted ONLY performance then delete the DYRL's entirely and save the weight.

its purely aesthetics that bug me

but it's your car. if you're happy then good

Yeah I know deleting the current DRLs can be beneficial but I like it. Interestingly I had prepared a pair of horizontal troughs on the bumper like those integrated in the nismo bumper and may delete the current vertical DRLs once they fail. The stock vertical DRLs are expensive.

The reserved horizontal troughs for the nismo style DRLs can be more clearly seen from the side view shown in the following link

The places of the integrated vertical DRLs can be easily filled up once the nismo-like DRLs take over but I prefer the current DRLs personally.

It's been a difficult decision to make the choice keeping the vertical DRLs... as I love them. I had been trying to make the side shape as sleek as possible. I prefer a sleek look as you guys :D

Wow looks amazing. And those finite element vents! Your car is the first I’ve seen that’s installed them. The DRLs should be done away with though forsure. The front would look much more clean and aggressive without them. Maybe fab some canards to replace them.
