Fly1 motorsports

Has anyone bought from fly1 ?
Can you rate ?

Overpriced junk. Bought fenders, didn't fit for sh#t and fiberglass was already spider webbing before attempting to get them to fit. Sold those. Recently bought a rear carbon diffuser, hoping for better quality. Carbon was so thin you could see through parts of it, and it wasn't even the right part that they shipped after waiting 4 months for it. Fitment was better than the fenders, but still not worth the cost.

I need rear wing. Ordered thru a sponsor here but had to cancel because of no communications. Whats the best spot to buy a spoiler ?

The best place will depend on what kind of spoiler you are looking for.

Zstore. They will deliver and talk to you too.

Carbonsignal - good things come to those who wait.

If JDM - bulletproof. There's so many.

Is the Z store evo r stuff ? I had a bad experience with evo-r

JARblue 04-08-2019 04:04 PM

Zstore does sell Evo-R stuff but they are not Jay. They are simply an online distributor of some of his products (plus lots of other stuff, too). And frankly, they're the best Evo-R source because they only sell his stuff if they have it in stock and available.

Is evo-r carbon fiber wings good quality ?

JARblue 04-08-2019 04:12 PM

I'm of the mindset that people don't need to be buying Evo-R products and encouraging the scummy behavior of Jay. There are plenty of people happy with their Evo-R product. And it seems for every 1 of them, there are 3 more that had a terrible experience.

I suggest that you stay away from Evo-R. Their components are of decent qulity but their people are not.

I have not had any issues with Evo R.
I've also purchased Evo R from the Z store and have no issues with their product. If you are not comfortable buying direct then go to the Z store. Never had any issues with them either.

If you have a PW, I would jump on this deal. Nothing beats OEM.

Quicksilvers 04-08-2019 08:14 PM

I know people that installed the Fly 1 Motorsports functional hoods on their Z and they were excellent quality and looked very nice to each their own. You have to like the style of a exterior or interior body part to install it on your Z. If you are interested in purchasing EVO R products it is highly recommend to purchase through their preferred vendors.

Don't buy from them! They block everyone S3bastiian does not like therefore keeping customers from purchasing.

axmea? 04-09-2019 02:07 AM

LOL. Some hatred without specifics. OP aside from a wing, what else were you planning to get from Fly1?

Chasingstatus 04-09-2019 05:22 AM

Croooober for that used jdm goodness.

nvrsatisfied 04-09-2019 05:40 AM

I just need a wing. I would prefer to cover the holes left from the sport wing I took off.

I recently purchased a carbon fiber 2015 sti hood, z fenders, diffuser and roof cap all from Fly1. After waiting 4 months for the production.... the sti hood was great, roof cap was alright, diffuser was good, and the fenders fit for nothing.

I also have several Evo-r products, and at least the quality appears to be better than Fly1. Fairly disappointed in Fly1 to say the least.

TheWolfe 04-20-2019 03:18 AM

Uh oh, glad I came across this post. I was about to buy their Type 3 Duckbill Spoiler. Where can I find this spoiler from a reliable dealer?

Edit: I'm going with DAR Spoilers Texas Drifter spoiler. Seems like everyone who has one really enjoys it, and they're only about an hour away from my house so I can go pick it up!

Fly1 Fenders

3 Attachment(s)
Fly1 front clip. All carbon fiber.Hood came damaged and I repaired.Did not want to wait 5 months for another.

Hood and bumper fit all right.

Fenders did not fit well.I have restored several classic cars and aftermarket body parts never fit very well.

I modified mounting points on fenders to get a nice fit.

So.....I’ve looked at two slightly used Fly1 duckbill spoilers in the last few weeks.
Both parties had invoices from Fly1 showing that the spoilers were not very old.
One of the people selling had only owned his for a month. Both spoilers had a ton of imperfections in the resin/clear coat. There were tons of what looks like bubbles in the clear. Is this the typical quality to expect from Fly1? I really wanted a duckbill but after seeing these two examples I am ruling Fly1 out if this is normal. Have any of you guys had any luck getting an unflawed duckbill from them? I want to leave mine unpainted so it needs to be nice.

If there are any other manufacturers you all recommend also let me know.

I currently have the EVO R high wing since I have a use for it at the track. It replaced the Nismo wing I had great fit and finish I really enjoy having it on my Z! I ordered direct from EVO R and waited three months and it came in. If you don’t have patience I advice not ordering directly through EVO R. Everything I ever ordered came just had to wait for their parts to arrive. Their preferred vendors stock a lot of the EVO R parts though.
