XBT Morimoto w/ Profile Prism

Hello all! I am currently very stuck and have been for the past two days with my halos and demon eye. I noticed they come with an orange and black wires/cables with blue caps. Do I cut the blue caps off to get access to the clip looking thing? I had connected it, and it lit up. But the only color I get for the halos are red. And even so, they don't get lit up as like they're suppose to. This is my very first mod, and first time working on my car. Please help. Lol

The blue connectors are used if you add a "tap" into your existing headlight wires. Usually the orange would go to the turn signal +, black to ground. You will only get one color out of the prisms until you connect to the RGB controller to change the colors.

Do I remove the blue cap looking thing THEN connect it? So I had previously successfully connected the controller to the battery and the demon eye turned on along with the halos. But the Halos only stayed red and not fully lit up. I think the demon eye was working well. Just the halos that weren't so well lit. As well as they didn't change color. They'd dim out if I chose another color than red.

if you're not using a "wire tap" to connect them, then you can cut off the connectors and solder it directly to the wires you are connecting to. If you're missing colors, then you may have a loose connection in the harness. Look at this video for instructions wiring them and troubleshooting missing colors. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlyFJSrG2ic

Also, you're better off asking these types of questions over at HID Planet. https://www.hidplanet.com/forums/

Did you buy from https://www.theretrofitsource.com/? They have guides online and you can contact them for issues if so. If not, they do link to the HID forums as mentioned above.

Also @mlsully, couldn't he just splice the wires before soldering? It's less permanent and he could test the results since he is unsure to begin with.

For sure he can, the solder is for when it’s all done and tested. Last thing you want is a wire to come loose and short put something.
