LED Lighting for Opening the hood
 

I have installed LED lighting under the hood and have installed all the required wiring. Question is this, is there a switch I can use this is similar to turn on the LED's when the hood is opened? THANKS!

use the factory hood pin switch and use it to activate a relay.

pin 30 - 12V+ (battery, with fuse)
pin 85 - 12V+
pin 86 - Ground
pin 87 - LEDs 12V+ input

Ok, question for ya...What is a hood pin switch? Does pin 87 go high when the hood is opened? Also, is that how the light in the fridge works? And how do we really know that dang light turns off anyhow...Oh, sorry...I show something shinny. ADD, you know.
