VIS Racing AMS GT Tunnel Hatch
VIS Racing is finally shipping their 370Z AMS GT Tunnel Hatch and mine arrived today. So worth the wait. Finished test fitting today, looking good so far. Have to tighten the hinge bolts down, wire in the third brake light, transfer the latch hardware and adjust the hinges if needed. That will be tomorrow. More to come!

As long as you like it, I guess.

Fitment looks pretty good, would like to see it all finished from a little further back. The weight savings must be huge.
Does it use a common piece of glass? |

To each his own, but I'm just not liking it. Not a fan of the duckbill spoiler at least on that. If they could of made it that the back edge matched what we currently have giving the buyer his choice of spoiler to put on would of made for a better product.
Hard to tell by the pictures but would hate to get caught in the rain, drain off looks almost non-existant and a giant pond forming... |
It's hard to tell from such weak a$$ pics but I think I like it :p :icon17:
How does it look from directly behind about 10-15 feet away at about driver eye level? I bet it's sexy AF. |

It does look like it could possibly become a toddler pool. |

Even though I like the built in spoiler they should have gone with a non spoiler version first like they have for the 350Z. They probably would have sold more. Size and shape wise it is similar to the 2015+ Nismo spoiler IMO. |

Is it going to stay CF or are you gonna paint it?

I think they really missed an opportunity to carry the lines from the hood and the roof somehow.
What's it look like from inside? Add much wind noise? |
I was able to weigh both using a baggage scale. Couldn’t get a consistent weight with baggage scale though. The OEM with mounting hardware is about 55lbs. The VIS hatch is about 33lbs with mounting hardware.
|
Interesting, I'd have thought bigger savings. The rear window is massive, I'd guess it would be 30 pounds alone, Nissan must have used thinner glass to keep the weight down. Is the hatch aluminum like the doors?

I vote win looks good, would like to see this on maybe a pearl white... contrasting CF carried up top from front to back would look pretty nize.

When I squint and imagine the color matching, I think it looks pretty good.
My CF spoiler add-on is getting ugly and I thought of just starting from scratch with a new hatch, and I also thought I going CF on the hatch. So this would be an instant new CF hatch with spoiler, and something different. |
I love the shot from the rear. Looks clean and sleek even though I see the lack of continuity with the OEM lines that some are commenting on. If color-matched... I'm sold :yum:
