Password JDM Dry Carbon Fiber Cooling Plate

Has anyone here on this wonderful forum ever used the Password JDM Dry Carbon Fiber Cooling Plate on their 370Z? I need to know if Z enthusiasts actually have seen a difference in cooling efficiency in their Z or is this just a cosmetic modification? Is it worth the coin? According to Password JDM this item allows maximum air flow directly to the radiator. How is the fitment of it?

I think it’s more for looks and also that the Password JDM cooling plates do not fit well (I may be confusing with EVO-R) from what I have seen on recent build threads.

When it comes to the cooling plate, regardless of reason you are purchasing, I believe that Fujimara would be your best bet to purchase from.

I am sure others will add direct experience.

I have one, but haven't installed it yet. Fitment looks to be good though, although it covers the windshield fluid reservoir cap. I plan to modify it so the cap is accessible. I'm hoping to have it installed sometime in the next month or so. I have no false illusions that it will increase cooling. I got it as part of my engine bay build because it looks great.

IIRC the Password JDM ones didn't fit too well from past posts about them. However, all it is, is a cosmetic replacement for the stock ABS piece. It won't increase or decrease cooling.

yes, i looked into this a while back. Lots of complaints about fitment.

i'd stay away; esp if its not functional anyways

I figured this was a cosmetic mod and for people how are looking to add carbon fiber pieces to their Z it does look very nice under the hood though. I am looking for constructive ways to improve cooling efficiency in my case. At the last event my Z was running a bit warm for my liking at approximately 239-240*. I am looking for ways to improve air flow to the radiator and oil cooler?? I can use more ventilation on my Z obviously.

oil cooler
vented hood
and probably those fender vents from Finite Element

maybe the intake ducts from Mines or Varis?
