Warning Chimes

Okay, I have a question related to the warming chimes. Seat belt, etc... I know people have asked how to bypass/turn them off...

My vehicle, '13 370Z Touring/Sport, only warning chime I receive is from leaving the vehicle with fob while it is running. I don't see this as an issue, I actually like the fact that I am not bothered.

I have done nothing to try to troubleshoot, nor do I have any inclination to bring back to the dealer (have lifetime warranty). I am afraid they would fix and not tell me what disabled them to begin with. :shakes head::eek::shakes head:

Any thoughts/expertise out there? Some day I may look into this a bit more and will pass along what I find, in case others would like to silence the chimes.

Interesting question. If you can obtain a copy of the FSM, it has functional descriptions, wiring diagrams, and much more.

I have FSM, have not really put much effort into tracking down. I actually like the fact there are not the chimes. That is in my list of things to do once I button her down for the year. Lots of time in the heated garage to investigate.

:iagree:

I wasn't trying to point you to a fix, it's just that the info you want, if it's anywhere, will be in the FSM.

I suspect you have a switch/sensor (door, pedal, shifter, seat, etc) that isn't acting right and the system doesn't think it needs an audible signal. The functional description of the chime system is where I'd start. I'd then go to the no-chimes diagnostics. If those both failed, I'd look at wiring diagrams. YMMV

I have a 2010 and thats the only warning chimes I get, do they even have chimes for no seatbelts? I thought it was just the no seatbelt light on the dash...

Ive not heard otherwise in the other 2010 or 2011 nismo Ive been in as well...

Would be odd if my 3 and yours all had them turned off?

My 2011 Z chimes after a short period of time if you have not fastened your seatbelt :twocents:

2018 Australian-delivered 370Z here, I have the seatbelt chime. I would love to know how to turn it off.

In my driveway? How about no. If I crash doing 20km/h on a straight path, the biggest injury will be to my pride.

I always wear the belt on the road, because it's dumb not to. I don't need babysitting.

You could get the male seat belt part that goes into the female seat belt slot and leave it clicked in when you are not wearing your belt. You could also cut the wires on the female belt part and connect them together so that the car thinks you are wearing your belt.

I have a 2011 sport touring and I only get a light notification for the seat belt thought that was all it didn’t know it should make noise too. Glad it broke in just the right way lol

It's easier to just untrain myself from the totally harmless habit of clicking my seatbelt off at the start of the driveway.. have to wait until I pull up at my garage and just commit to losing that 1 second of my life each day :ugh2:
