air recirculation

Two part question here...first question is, when you start the car, and turn on your air, does it always default to recirculation even though you had it set to fresh air?

Second question is... during really hot days, with the AC on, sometimes the fresh air selection goes to recirculation and I cant switch it back to fresh air. Is that normal?

Mine defaults to recirculation when starting the car and turning on the ac even if i had it set it to fresh. The only time it doesn't default to recirculation is if i have it on defrost.
Never had the problem of not being able to switch to fresh air even on really hot days.

It seems like mine defaults to whatever I left it on last. Just yesterday I switched it to recirculation for the first time and this morning it was still on that.

Edit: after posting this it went back to recirculation. Not sure how to fix, if you hold it down it flashes both lights.

Update: manual says, "To switch to the automatic control mode, push the control air intake button for approx 2 sec. The indicator lights will flash twice, then the air intake will be controlled automatically." I tried and couldn't get it to stick to the outside air setting.

Yeah, but in my case I dont even press the button. It just goes to recirculation by itself and I can change it

and this morning it was on fresh air :icon14: makes no sense. Maybe cuz i was only turning the battery on while testing yesterday. It definitely has something to do with the holding the button in.

I think it has to do with the temp you have it set at during startup and the current temp outside. Being summer, it's probably set really low so it auto sets recirculation to get to the target temp faster.

Makes sense. Ill try a higher temp setting and see what happens at start up. I havent been able to get it "stuck" on recirculation because it hasnt been so hot here. It seems to get "stuck" on recirculation when outside temps are 105 degrees and up.
