Nissan Australia are a bunch of precious ***!
I've been looking at updating my '12 model with a Nismo front & rear fascia.
I am speaking with Jon @ Z1 about this, but as I am in Australia I thought I would ask Nissan Australia also. The response I got surprised me: "...we will be unable to order them without a VIN for the specific vehicle they are fitted to. If you are trying to add the parts to a non Nismo 370Z, you will need to source the parts yourself. Nissan Australia regards any OEM fitted Nismo parts as 'controlled' meaning they will not supply them for a non Nismo vehicle." Can anyone confirm/deny that Nissan USA also has this policy, or are Nissan Australia just being d!cks? |

I have heard some will take your money and order but the ones I have talked to have told me to pound sand and find one on my own. |
Yes, same policy for US dealerships here. I had to provide a Nismo Vin# to order the Nismo bumper covers through the dealers. You can look up a Vin# through your local ads for any Nismo for sale and give that to the parts department guy.

Basically, their system doesn't show anything until you put a VIN in. I know because I have the software (Nissan FAST) for my 20yo grey import. Not sure if they're using the same software these days but it probably works the same way (VIN first, then you can drill into different sections of the car to find the part you want). |
hey mate, '15 370Z in Victoria here. I just ordered all the front and rear parts needed for the Nismo conversion aswell as the under tray from a dealer down here. Didnt need to ask about VIN or anything, took a long time to get all the parts (Ordered in mid Jan and the final part came today) Guy was super chill and super friendly. Just gave him a list of parts I wanted, explained what im doing and it was all set. I did have the same thing happen from one of the dealers but they were a specific Nissan "Nismo" dealer.
If you need any help just PM me :) |
You'd be surprised at how many plain vanilla Dodge Challengers are running around here with "HELLCAT" emblems ! :tiphat:
|
You need to go in person, if you're trying to do this via a website they will ask for a VIN
|
That's a standard policy and is there for most "normal" people. There are slight differences even in the same model and year so when so asking for the VIN is a standard question to avoid having people complain they were given the wrong part.

Go to the dealership and find a Nismo model in the lot. Record the VIN and walk over to the parts department.
