front and rear emblems
 

So I am thinking of swapping out the front and rear Nissan hamburgers for some big Z emblems. At the Z-store, they only have options with CF backing. I would prefer to not have the backing, but am wondering if they are there because there are some holes or something that need to be covered after the Nissan emblem is removed. Anyone done this before and can give some input?

hmm im pretty sure you can get the EVO R emblems without backing, I see it on his website

Cool, I was only seeing them at the Z-store which doesn't have them without backing. Evo-R seems to be out of stock tough on them.

Have a look on eBay- there's some good options from the UK and China.

There are some indentations that aren't completely covered, so you will probably want a backing of some sort. I chose a black backing with mine. And I ended up painting both the emblem and the backing to match my car color. I'm sure you could find something else to use as a backing or possibly even just paint the CF one it comes with (or peel off the CF and then paint it).

Argh, I already ordered a set with no backing. Is there a place I can get just the backing?

The backing I got from Evo-R is nothing fancy. It was just a piece of plastic cut in a circle with some pre-cut 3M tape. You shouldn't have any trouble finding something comparable for cheap.

Mine didn't require backing - I would wait and see how the one you ordered looks before ordering anything else.

EVOR emblems do not have the bar across to cover the holes.
