GTR Hood Vents
 

Hoping someone with experience can help me out with 2 questions about the GTR Hood Vents on the 370z.

Do I need to purchase the vents with the air tunnels? Will the air tunnels even fit underneath the hood? I see some vendors sell the vents with the tunnels and without.

Which vendor sells the proper set of vents? I see some selling for less than $200, others sell them for $300+. I'm not looking for crappy quality and I am willing to pay, but I don't want to pay an extra $100-$200 if I don't have to.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I don't think I have seen anyone install teh tunnels. They maybe GTR specific.

Any chance you can refer me to your supplier for the vents? I just want to make sure I'm getting a correct, good quality part before March. I have a Varis Kouki Lip coming in from Japan that's getting installed in March and would like to do the vents at the same time.

I think that the vents are pretty much going to be of the same style, unless you buy the factory vents $$$. They have CF & FRP available eBay, Alibaba etc.

As mentioned, the tunneling / piping is going to take some real creativity & it's not going to benefit anything. I had the thought of doing so & abandoned it for this reason. The GTR vents do have a down tube on them.

You may have trouble with a shop installing these for you as most people that have reached out to me have found. Cutting the hood is not a problem, but doing the layout work can drive you crazy. If you do find a shop willing to install them, PM me the price as I am curious what someone would charge. Me & Simota1 had some interesting conversations over the process.

Will update once I talk to my shop. Do you think quality of the vents will be poor if coming from a site like ebay or aliexpress? Just wondering if I should be looking at actual vendors rather than general sites like that.

For what it's worth, I got mine off Alibaba. In the end vents are vents. Pick a style & go with it. The quality / skill of the install is what will make the real difference. :cool:

Felix, what would you charge to do this? I'm in Cali too.
