Tamon Design to Unveil Nissan RC370Z at Tokyo Auto Salon in January

Quote:

The crew over from Japanese tuning house Tamon Design sent us these teaser sketches of their newest project car, the 2010 Nissan 370Z-based RC370Z, which is set to make its debut at the forthcoming Tokyo Auto Salon. Being a teaser and all, the company did not provide us with any specific details on the RC370Z, but the drawings suggest that the modded Z will benefit from a full body kit, new alloy wheels and tires, and quite possibly, a unique paint scheme.

Billed as the world's largest auto show with more than 600 vehicles on display and some 300 participating companies of all sorts, the 2010 Tokyo Auto Salon will be held at the Makuhari Messe from January 15 to 17.

If all goes as planned, our man Phil will be covering the Japanese tuning show live, so stay tuned...

Thoughts?

I think it looks ok. But I would never replace most of my body panels for a body kit. Any news of a cwest body kit?

RCZ 12-16-2009 03:35 PM

that a 13 year old draw that? I mean I do like it, just come on with the effort haha.

kenchan 12-16-2009 03:50 PM

yah, not for me... might be cool to have as a poster or something in the garage.

RedComet 12-16-2009 04:05 PM

Interesting. I too wanna' hear from C-West. They're work on the Z33 was brilliant.

Marco_xyz 12-16-2009 05:25 PM

that car once its done would look stunning in matte black or white

bullitt5897 12-16-2009 06:29 PM

^ kinda looks like a big mouth. I'm not sure a/b this one, Amuse still looks the best imo

LiquidZ 01-14-2010 10:51 PM

The only thing I like about the car is the color.

motoextreme 01-15-2010 12:03 AM

Yuck!:gtfo2:

law2004 01-15-2010 12:45 AM

it looks pretty good to me atleast. =] itll be expensive tho. around 6-8k probably

phelan 01-15-2010 01:05 AM

yeah for 6-8k i'd get amuse hands down

...oh wait :ugh2:

on thep lus side: the mazda 3 would no longer be the happiest car EVER. hahahah

edit: lovin' that paint work though. mmm...

cab83_750 01-15-2010 01:06 AM

It looks good to me. I have been waiting for someone to supply 'wide fender.' Though the rear of the current Z looks bulgy and muscular, I believe it still needs a little more bulges.

Not bad, but I think that oversized G37 grille is a bit much, maybe if it was smaller.
I like the rear fender treatment, desperately needs a wing to finish it off.
Need to see different colors, wheel combos.

CBRich 01-15-2010 06:44 AM

Lose the funky insert for the front and replace it with something better and I'd be all over it. I actually like the overall look.

nuTinmuch 01-15-2010 07:03 AM

I think it looks pretty horrible. The front grill reminds me of a Chrysler more than anything, which makes me thing of terrible, terrible things.

The accents all over don't really make any sense nor do they really add anything to the body. It is generally pretty disappointing, but I guess someone will probably buy it.

bullitt5897 01-15-2010 07:39 AM

I like it. To those who say it does not follow the lines of the car you need to get your eyes checked. I have already been working on a realistic photoshop of this design and YES it DOES follow the lines of the car. Look at it from this perspective... The OEM lines make the car look short and porsche like... This design changes that up and makes the car seem longer with the flatter curves, wider with the flared fenders, and much more aggressive! Now the front grill is something to get used to and i think with more pictures and different angle many peoples minds could change on how they like the kit. A really good combo would probably be the Amuse Front, The rest of this body kit and Amuse Wing! Now that would be unique and different!

and everybody in japan just screamed in pain lol

(i'm just referring to their almost fanatical nature to stick to one company's kit instead of mixing and maching like we do)

SeeyaBud86 01-15-2010 09:46 AM

I do not like the front at all. But what I do like is some parts of the back. The diffuser looks pretty sick, I need to see some more angles of the back though ;)

bullitt5897 01-17-2010 01:01 AM

I had an idea for the tamon kit... Check it out!

Yeah. I never really understood that. I probably will never understand why they prefer buying all their parts from one company instead of mixing and matching. (Spoon certified cars for example)

As far as that Tamon Designs kit, did they remove the rear fog light? The rear looks decent. The front is another story. :shakes head:

kenchan 01-17-2010 11:53 AM

the red looks silly like the new mazda's...but the white not as much.

bullitt5897 01-17-2010 03:45 PM

I think the two tone paint color enhances the curves of the kit yet minimizes the funny look of the front bumper.

The rear fog is still there and is a much better design and is hidden in the diffuser.

phelan 01-17-2010 04:19 PM

still not my cup of tea, but if you want to, go for it :)

RCZ 01-17-2010 04:19 PM

that kit looks terrible no matter how you paint it.

RCZ 01-18-2010 09:03 AM

even titty pink.

genki370z 01-18-2010 01:41 PM

when you first take a first glance at it, my first initial thought is-man it looks like a whale or some kind of marine mammal lol....not feeling the kit at all.
