VIN# on rear bumper, important?
So I scored a free rear bumper on craigslist... and I want to attempt shaving the rear emblem and repainting myself.... I noticed the VIN# is stamped on it behind where the license plate goes.
How big of a deal is it have a non-matching VIN on a bumper? I'd think it wouldn't matter at all but maybe someone smarter than me knows of some impact I am not thinking of. |
I honestly don't think anyone will care that much. It's just a bumper cover

Bumper covers get replaced all the time, so it doesn't matter. If you're real paranoid, call a local body shop or your DMV and see if you need to file any paperwork in your state.

Thanks guys, sounds like I should return to not giving a sh!t about it.

It only matters if you have a collectors car that need to have matching numbers. In you case. You would have to keep the Z for 50 years for it to matter. :icon17:

My yet to be born great great grand kid who I know will love the Z will no longer benefit as much from the value of the 370Z since his great great grand pa went for a Nismo conversion.
