Annoying arm rest

Does anyone else have an issue with constantly opening the console in the arm rest while driving by hitting the button with your elbow? If there was one thing I'd like to change about the interior it would be the whole center console. One thing being the cup holder which is just poorly placed because anything placed in it just gets in the way and my lid to my console doesn't sit flush. There is a slight gap like it's not latching all the way down but it's latched

If I tried to hit that button with my elbow, I'd be in traction for a month.

hmm i actually thought i broke the center cap because it moves up and down a bit even though it's latched

zmanelite 03-27-2017 06:54 PM

I actually have the same issue but im like ahh well

BboyZ 03-28-2017 12:06 AM

Honestly, I never had that issue so far.

I'll try to get a pic later tonight once I get home. Definitely some play in it and I'd like to get it to latch more fully seated but I didn't see a way to.... optionzero im not sure what my issue has anything to do with the rather pointless things people wanna add to their car like trunk liner and ground lighting. It's just something I'd rather improve

I used to open mine with my elbow all the time as well... it appears my brain has adjusted my resting position to compensate as it has not happened in some time.

I've got better at not hitting it with my elbow now and want it sitting more flush when closed now. I'm so use to my dd civic si. Bought my 370 in November so due to weather I haven't driven it much

TerribleONE 03-28-2017 11:49 AM

Never had this problem.

As for it not sitting flush do you have it crammed with a bunch of stuff?

JTM88 03-28-2017 12:02 PM

I'm trying to figure out how you guys are hitting it, my elbow is a good 3-4" behind the button

short arms or guy :ugh2:is short and has seat scooched all the way forward..

stansens 03-28-2017 05:21 PM

Maybe slightly tighten the screws under the lid to diminish the gap. Careful as the screws go into plastic.

Short arms indeed but they're pretty girthy lol only thing in it is my spare key for my civic. By the looks of it the plastic piece under the armrest needs to be thicker to allow the armrest cover to sit lower under the latch. May just place something on it so it seats lower.
