Prob at one time under dash lights were on the car, prob a switch to turn them on or off or something of the sort.

Do you have an aftermarket Alarm System?

Have you pressed the button... Best way to find out. Stay clear of the seat though...

roadie 10-09-2016 09:54 PM

No aftermarket alarm, was waiting to hit the button till I knew what it was lol.

The mysterious electrical toggle switch, if you bought from private party any way you could talk to owner, if not try to hunt for wire schematic follow wire back see where it goes. I bought a used rsx that had all kind of switches, wires added it was a mess, ended up putting it all the way back to oem

If you bought it used, its definitely something someone before you added, if I had to guess, it looks like an interior lighting switch.

Raidernation 10-09-2016 10:17 PM

Just push the button and report back. Worst case you are ejected from the car.

SouthArk370Z 10-09-2016 10:19 PM

It could be anything. white37014 has the right idea - see where the wires are going. Wiring diagrams, wire colors, etc are in the FSM.

So, we've been over this many times on this forum, let me give my 2 cents.

This is a "kill switch" type system that every single Power dealershit installs, maybe others do too. I discussed with people, Nissan, the guys who uninstalled it, and they said this is probably for high risk customers and Power seems to install them IMMEDIATELY.
When I had mine taken out, the guy was impressed. He said they could turn off the car remotely, lock and unlock doors, and roll up and down the windows

Well researching online looks like a KARR system............

Never Buy a Car Alarm From a Dealership

Nixin 10-10-2016 09:38 AM

Could be a tracker from an insurance company.

It is part of the KARR system. My 370Z has one and my wife's Juke has one. They are dealer installed. I had them done to add tilt sensors to the stock alarm.

white37014 10-10-2016 11:35 AM

Government tracking device for sure, I would rip that out asap, unless all you do is granny shift all day long...

Dirk McGurck 10-10-2016 02:23 PM

Had the same thing in mine. I found out it was like a low jack for our cars. Look under where the steering column is and you'll see a bunch or wires spliced into your cars wiring. I disconnected everything but yeah its just like low jack.:rofl2:
